Here is my live recorded final - ish set from Sunday's peach of a night at Afrikaburn, after @kobusm landed the temple burn with some amazing music. 

It was such a pleasure to be part of the Loki support and mischief team, we had almost 30 DJ's playing off Loki during the course of the week and what fun was had. Such diversity and energy brought by each one. 

I was gifted 2 sound clip opportunities that came with such spontaneity during the week. Firstly a verbatim recital of the Lorax story by Alex, 1815 wonderful words so elegantly told. Secondly, a handpan contribution from a wonderful human to close off this special Sunday / end of burn week moment, as the embers receded.

I have mixed these 2 clips into this mix where it felt most right

Since I discovered Soundcloud and the realms of music, I've come across plenty of amazing and talented friends.  I easily fall down the rabbit hole when it comes to the internet in general, and Soundcloud is arguably the biggest and easiest hole for me to fall into. It almost seems like no matter what, there is an infinite amount of unique sounds and good vibes all over the world, and they can be found at the touch of a button. 

One of my rabbit hole tumbling sessions led me to Lars Middelhede, otherwise known as Disfunctional Disco, a talented DJ from Copenhagen. He has been a prominent selector in their house scene for many years now. In the last year it was clear to me that our music journeys were leading in similar paths, so I had to have him on my LOST series.  I asked him what kind of journey he wanted to tell through music.... so he came back to me with the word INFINITY.  But what does that even mean? 

"I have always been fascinated by the concept, and somehow i think it represents what i feel about music quite accurate, the terms boundlessness, limitlessness often cross my mind when i listen to and think about music and sounds.

Infinity remains in the realm of the abstract. The human mind seems to have created the concept, yet can we even really picture what it looks like? it has driven many of our greatest minds to madness, it comes in different sizes, both large and small, which again, is hard to fathom. Is music infinite, is sound creation limitless ? Sometimes i feel it is, and i always try to make my mixes big, full of soundscapes and rhythms which makes the mind wander and spirit drift."

L O S T in Infinity with Disfunctional Disco

One of the many joys I've found from this whole music journey is all the connections I've made with people from around the world, many I haven't even met in real life. Sharing a similar passion with others is a beautiful thing.

A while back I had the pleasure of connecting with Dunmore Park.  We shared similar music interests and I got the opportunity to create a mix for his Parkcast series, a really cool project of his. I had to return the favor, so I asked him whenever he was feeling inspired by something in his life, and wanted to share that with me and the world, that I would be happy to have him on. 

Recently he spent some time this month exploring the Yucatan region of Mexico.  Like me and most others, we sort of find certain music while traveling that sticks with us and reminds us of the great memories we make on the trips. This mix is a collection of the tunes he was vibin' with on the trip.  Enjoy!
