Brushes on paper like water colour with spades.
Pointillism in your rhythm, take a break, drink water and gaze at what you see around you.

"Powers" Samanimal's debut album, (2025 edit - originally released 18th February 2019)

In 2017, Sam Animal was invited to spend a few weeks living and working at the Abbey House Gardens in the Cotswolds, UK. The building is a very old and special place, its walls built in the sixteenth century and its foundations dating back to the thirteenth. It is in the library of this house that this album was created. John Porter, producer of 13 Grammy Award Winning albums was at the helm. 
The songs are a collection written by Sam over some time leading up to his arrival at the Abbey House.

But touch was essential,
Closeness elemental like the sun.

Bill Gates was right, we were unprepared.

The RNLI is an important charity to me because of the coastline that surrounds Cornwall, where I grew up and where my loved ones live. Like most charities the RNLI's income has been hit hard due to the downturn in the charity sector from the economic effects of Covid-19. 

More information about RNLI: The RNLI is a registered charity that saves lives at sea. It provides, on call, a 24-hour lifeboat search and rescue service to 100 miles out from the coast of the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland and a beach lifeguard service on over 200 beaches in England. The RNLI continues to rely on voluntary contributions and legacies for its income.

I wrote Ultra Marine whilst sat in my car watching the waves on a stormy day from Pendennis Point in Falmouth, Cornwall.

The recording has been mixed and mastered by legendary producer John Porter. Musicians that accompanied me on the recording are Cornish favourites Chris Jones on bass and Kieta Bennetts on vocals. Plus the Cotswold's loudest drummer Rufus Pollard.

The noise of Falmouth Docks,
tested by the ticking clocks.

Ultra Marine

Back in August 2018 our good friend Patrick Mckechnie set up a few mics in front of Kieta and I in his bedroom, and with leads stretching out under doors and down the hall he set up camp in his studio.
We recorded 4 tracks:

A chapter all tied up laced with doubt in the form of fun 
Making these hearts un-done

And my sweet sweet woman took good care of him  

A chapter falling apart, a mini without a spark

Master of the Will

I am master of the will, 
my will is master of the thought,

In the blink of an eye, 
infinite symbolic design.

An inward breath, perfection and luck ingest.
Conceptual eye looking down,
on a calm and peaceful mind.
A place of rest that I designed, for this, for us, for you.
