I, Samantha Anne Carrillo, am a devotee of zen and the (lost) art of diagramming sentences. I have called the American Southwest home for two decades now. Prior to a recent layoff, I worked as a copy editor-slash-social media manager for an area newspaper.

Deep background: As a thirtysomething, I served as managing editor of two local alternative newspapers, Weekly Alibi and ABQ Free Press. I have nearly 20 years experience working as a professional journalist and editor.
