For years we've been dreaming about recording some original dancehall in Jamaica. So this dream came through and now we present you our new Series Collection : Palenque Afro-Rockers vol 1. Bless to the almighty Olodumare, we got into this mystical way to build and share great musical experiences with great artists in the history of Jamaican Reggae.
This first volume features King Kong, Super Black Carl Dawkins and Little Harry, all stars from different times in the history of dancehall. This is a homage to this artists we admire. 
Dj ChampetaMan has been a Dj since 1998, with Faraon Bantu Sound System. So we thought about the artist we played and loved inna the dancehall arena. So we thougt about the legendary King Kong, who introduces us to Carl Dawkins, Superblack and Little Harry. We had the great joy to record these dancehall bangers with these legendary singers, who reminds us some glorious and great moments in the history of reggae Dancehall and Sound Systems. 
Mystical Music to go high & Irie, and some great Dub Versions for you to get high and keep on fighting Babylon system. Waite for Vol 2 and Vol3 coming soon!! with more fire and more Reggae dancehall roots.  These recordings have been mixed by Diego gomez ( Cerrero ) from Llorona Records, doing some great Dub Versions for all the real music lovers in the world. 

KING KONG 
Born in Kingston, Thomas first recorded as a deejay at Tuff Gong studios in 1982, initially working under the name Junior Kong, named after his father. His debut single was "Pink Eye". He worked with GT and then his own Love Bunch sound system and then recorded for King Tubby's Firehouse label, now singing in a similar style to Tenor Saw. The early King Kong recordings for Tubby were over early digital rhythms, and included songs such as "AIDS" and "Babylon", and established him as a popular artist.His first album release was split with another of Tubby's singers, Anthony Red Rose, with Two Big Bull Inna One Pen issued on Firehouse. During 1986 and 1987, Kong recorded for several of Jamaica's top producers, including Prince Jammy, with whom he enjoyed his biggest hits with "Trouble Again" (the title track from his Jammy-produced debut album proper) and "Legal We Legal", Black Scorpio, Harry J, Errol Thompson, Ossie Hibbert, Bunny Lee, and Prince Jazzbo. While many of his songs were typical in content of the era, several of his songs had political and cultural themes. He released several albums during this period before relocating first to New York, and then to Canada in the late 1980s, where he released material occasionally on his Conscious Music label. The death of Tenor Saw in 1988 prompted King Kong to release "He Was a Friend" as a tribute, and in 1989 he relocated to England and recorded with Mafia & Fluxy and Gussie P in the early 1990s. He began recording more regularly again in the 2000s.

ChampetaMan A Kill Dem - King Kong -- Dub By Cerrero / PALENQUE ROCKERS VOL 1 !!

London-based keyboardist/producer Dan Nicholls (of Y-OTIS) introduces a new album project ‘Mattering And Meaning’ to be released by We Jazz Records on August 13th. Nicholls' music uses acoustic piano as its key element, transporting the instrument into new territories that sound remarkably natural and organic, whilst displaying a strong kinship with the world of abstract electronic music. The music utilises piano loops and field recordings as its key elements, forming what might be described on the surface as a fascinating ambient jazz record – but at the same time there's so much more at play here on deeper levels. Dan's music sounds at once otherworldly and immensely inviting.

With its uncanny landscape of fine sand drifts, juniper fields and pine, the ancient Beerze forest in the North-East of the Netherlands is a site of many unusual convergences of human and other than human stories. 'Papa' continues to unravel the threads of a deep artistic collaboration and kinship between pianist and producer Dan Nicholls and the Dutch filmmaker and anthropologist Louise Boer. These fuzzily collaged images and sounds represent a common love for finding the in-between places in which ideas can find deeper roots, channeled here through a dreamlike world which holds within it the location in which Louise’s father, Henk Boer, found his final resting place.

In 1975, under the oppressive air of military dictatorship in Brazil, brothers Lelo and Ze Eduardo Nazario invited bassist Zeca Assumpção to join their musical experiments in a basement under Sao Paulo’s Teodoro Sampaio Street. The trio had already been playing together in Brazilian polymath Hermeto Pascoal’s band, alongside guitarist Toninho Horta and saxophonist Nivaldo Ornelas, and it was while working together under Hermeto’s direction that the Paulista rhythm section (as they were then known) realised their own potential.

With many nightclubs and venues closed in the mid-70s and government censors dictating the output of radio, TV and art galleries, many Brazilian artists fled during the years of the dictatorship. But underground, Grupo Um were fusing avant garde ideals with contemporary jazz and Afro Brazilian rhythm; making phenomenally beautiful music which was wildly free and expressive - in stark contrast to the sterile, conservative conditions being imposed above ground.

Recorded in just two days at Sao Paulo’s Vice-Versa Studios, Starting Point was to mark the inception of one of Brazil’s most daring instrumental groups. But with a record so radically ahead of its time, Grupo Um struggled to find a label willing to release their debut and Lelo Nazario kept the tapes safe in his archives, which is where they sat for almost half a century…

Finally, this mesmerising piece of history is here, and it was only the beginning…

An extraordinary Italian Library recording originally released on the lauded series “Musica Per Commenti Sonori” with a mispressed catalogue number. The unveiled twin session of Stefano Torossi’s legendary FEELINGS, this album features the same line-up, and same composers, with music and direction by Giancarlo Gazzani and compositions made by Sandro Brugnolini and Stefano Torossi himself.

Upon its release, the label realized its mistake, and the album was immediately withdrawn. It is one of the most obscure Italian Library albums as a result. The music is similar to FEELINGS,  ranging from jazz-funk to orchestral to experimental.  This album has been repressed on 180gr. wax, and was remastered from the original master tapes. Edition of 400 copies.
