 “I have been creating a lot of new music recently and it has transported me back to the time when I recorded my first songs. I always felt that I can't compete was the first song I wrote where I found my voice and it never got released due to my band falling apart at the time. It feels meaningful to share it now, before I ventured further into new music.”

Tightrope is the first single from Samantha Avalon’s upcoming debut EP Keep On Trying. It is a soft jazz-pop track featuring tender vocals, delicate live strings, and gently layered arrangements. Exploring the theme of loving bravely even when life feels unsteady, the song was crafted over several years with the collaboration of talented musician friends, blending vintage warmth and storytelling. Samantha Avalon is a Franco-British jazz-pop artist crafting tender, storytelling-driven songs shaped by French chanson, indie folk and jazz. Inspired by artists like Laufey, Norah Jones and Feist, her music blends gentle vocals with soft vintage textures, creating something intimate and quietly luminous.

Raised in a tiny village on the west coast of France, she grew up between marshes, salt farms and a family of musicians before moving to London at eighteen to study music performance and train as a therapist.

Following her single “I Can’t Compete”, which received support from BBC Introducing, Samantha is releasing her new EP “Keep On Trying”. Written during her mother’s battle with cancer and recorded after her passing, the EP is an ode to resilience, capturing both vulnerability and hope. Its first single, Tightrope introduces her warm, orchestral jazz-pop sound.
