Following the announcement of Backtrack Blow Up as his Essential New Tune, I was invited by Pete Tong to record a 30 minute Hot Mix. Part of the brief was to choose a theme, so I came up with “Tested Across Time Zones”: a snapshot selection of unreleased tracks I played on tour that either sparked the biggest crowd reactions or brought in the most ID requests.

Samantha Loveridge Returns to Get Physical with Uplifting Afro House Single ‘Ogede’ feat. AYONGE

After a string of standout releases across labels like Innervisions, When Stars Align, and Monaberry, Samantha Loveridge is back on Get Physical Music with a vibrant new track titled ‘Ogede’, featuring rising Nigerian vocalist AYONGE. This marks the first collaboration between the two artists and delivers a joyful, percussive slice of Afro House with a distinct melodic flair.

‘Ogede’ is a song full of warmth and movement. Rich in rhythm and layered with glowing synth work, the track is driven by AYONGE’s soulful vocals, which are delivered in Yoruba and English. The lyrics of the track invite connection and movement, weaving themes of rhythm, ritual, and joy into a groove that’s both infectious and uplifting. The call-and-response phrases add a strong communal energy to the groove. Beautifully arranged and sonically rich, Samantha balances deep, earthy percussion with shimmering melodic layers, giving the track a natural sweetness and sense of flow.

Samantha Loveridge made her Get Physical debut in 2023 with her powerful rework of ‘Losing My Religion’ featuring Treetalk, a release that captured global attention and support from Black Coffee, Rüfüs Du Sol, Keinemusik, and more. Her subsequent productions, including ‘The Pusher’ for Innervisions’ Secret Weapons series, and collaborations with Kali Mija and Lizwi, have established her as a force in deep, Afro, and melodic house, blending diverse influences into her sound.

‘Ogede’ is more than a track, it’s an invitation. With its infectious rhythm, cultural richness, and joyful spirit, Samantha Loveridge and AYONGE deliver a powerful moment that feels both timeless and fresh.
