Sama Safir is making a debut in the world of house & techno late in 2021, with his own brand of melancholic and ‘large personality’ tracks. He’s a Sydney based but globally inspired artist, as the alias suggest, and leans into his Moroccan, and more generally African, and Middle-Eastern roots, to express himself in this noisy scene.

Sama is a well travelled philosopher, a forward thinker, and an explorer of new paths. He’s also a seasoned DJ, and tends to find a home in long opening sets where he relishes resisting urges to simply give. Instead he opts to leverage tension and release to take unsuspecting audiences to exciting places. His trademark is found in the elegance of his mixing techniques, and the curation of synergistic track lists.

While Sama is only now relaunching a career in music with a new vision and skillset, he’s no stranger to the Australian club scene, having supported the likes of Amine Edge & Dance, Pleasurekraft, Gorgon City, Flume, Proxy, DJ TT, Cyril Hahn and many others, under a previous alias. He’s also graced the holy decks at renowned spots including Chinese Laundry, the Burdekin, Home, Ivy, and the Imperial in recent years.
