Off The Record this month takes a dive into the mind of Chicago artist and musician Beau Wanzer. 
Wanzer is commonly known for records on Ron Morelli's L.I.E.S. imprint as well as working with labels like Brew, L.A. Club Resource, iDEAL, Natural Sciences, and Nation. His in touch ear with industrial, electro and experimental music has seen him work alongside the likes Traxx and Steve Summers as the excellent Mutant Beat Dance, Dan Jugle as the head banging Juzer and more recently De-Bons-en-Pierre with Maoupa Mazzocchetti. 
For this mix Wanzer goes no holds bared into the world of tape culture with noisey and hissing electro and synth tunes as well as some chuggy industrial moments. We had a quick chat with Beau about the mix and what he has coming up!

On November 2, as El Día de Muertos comes to a close, the altars of the Temple of Joy will glow with intricate patterns of festive lights. This night, we celebrate JOY’s ninth birthday—an innocent euphoria of dysfunction bathed in a blaze of hazy light.

A shabby ice cream truck, serving up the flavor of crunchy dog hair, delivers our main guest: Ren Schofield, aka Container, the elegant master of rhythmic bombardment and nauseating noise. Whether he’s the perfect raver for punks or the ideal punk for ravers, fueled by guerrilla crackling and soaked in primitive analog techno, Container returns to Sameheads after 10 years to present his new album, Yacker.

In a halo of dissonant rhythms and disembodied sighs, Ugetsu Monogatari and Costa will lead low-frequency ceremonies of deprivation, while the herald of the black rainbow, Səriim, will solemnly conduct a burial ritual in psychoactive quicksand.

Rotterdam-based Ofra loves to share her music always and anytime, whether through an intimate listening radio show or a steamy nightclub set. A lover of Wave, Electro, Acid, New Beat, EBM, and Synthpop, she also holds a special place for Punk and Shoegaze music. Over the years she has developed her own rich music palette as a DJ and curator. Ofra's eyes and ears are extra alert when curating programs to connect artists and music lovers. In 2017, she co-founded the Rotterdam-based online radio station Operator and recently started her own label, Yarrow Ballet.
