Lurking beneath the bridges, this was said to be a creature that was never seen by daylight. Perhaps that was because few feared to visit the trenches to find out what mischief it had been causing down there as of late... It was rumoured to live alongside the river which flowed through the old park and the old parts of the city which had become overgrown but for the occasional wanderer looking for something lost.

It was called the Chuffalump, a magical creature who was said to escort people into the outer reaches of the night and lead them in a merry dance of witchy mystery. Some sought to find it and become friends, others feared that it might warp their tiny minds leaving them but a mere semblance of their former selves...

Pigeon Steve is a familiar face amidst the underground music community in Glasgow. This is the first outing on a newly launched record label called Future State and the record has been described as a 'certified trip'. We certify the claim and reckon this one will certainly do well in the small uncertain hours of the morning.

Moisk aka Pletnev & Fourmi Rouz delve into the depths of psychedelia soundscapes with their latest release “Tetris Life’’ on Terra Magica Rec. The duo skillfully balances modular sounds and shimmers through acid synthesizers with their signature style. Offering a wide range of sounds from uptempo half-beat to raw, energetic techno-trance, inviting you into a mesmerizing sci-fi universe. The EP features tracks like “Tetris Life” and “A Glass of Coke with Ice”, that explore underground ambient deserts and immersive jungle improvisations. This is followed by dark and slow breakbeat cuts that transition into faster-paced, floating atmospheric IDM tunes. The 12’’ contains many choppy old-school loops and uptempo trance breakdowns, as in “Orange Button’’ and “Wrong Stability”. Burning the midnight soil, Wormbox is the amalgamation of two new age cats — Break Mode and Cole Baby whose collaboration results in something really far out. With mixes for Electric Shapes and Gop Tun, and a growing list of productions popping up on labels around the world, these two worms demonstrate a special pairing which is anything but grounded. Their jams are uniquely sewn together by combining each of their distinct production styles, creating a truly singular sound. Pulling from all sides of their electronic and dance music predecessors, the outcome is just as delightful as it is unexpected.

Afterlife is a perfect example how Wormbox have woven their tapestry of production together with off kilter breakbeat rhythms, tasteful melody synth and 303 lines, with a sprinkling of effects and samples throughout.

"The first track we would like to present you is “Sisterhood” by Donato Dozzy. This track was made specially to be played at Diapason, much before this compilation was even designed. Donato made it and said “now this is yours, girls!” And we called it Sisterhood, to celebrate ourselves and the spirit of our nights.

Donato came to play for us one night late July last Summer at Sameheads. The other special guest of the night was our friend Simon Heidemann. We gave the episode of Diapason the title “Summer of Love”. That night it was beautiful to see such a mixed crowd coming together on our dance floor. Many were visiting Sameheads for the first time. Despite the heat, I think we all felt the breeze when this master, who needs no introductions, softly spread his magic......."

Diapason is a Neukoelln based events series created by Ondula and Eva Geist, inspired by obscure music culture, experimental art and experiences of life in suburban communities of outsiders. With Petra Péterffy’s morphic graphics and animations, Diapason has become a much anticipated bi-monthly appointment for the Sameheads audience.

The recent lockdown forced Sameheads to cancel our latest two episodes. Shifting to this hidden virtuality, we want to keep the tradition alive and have reached out to some of our past guests and assembled a Diapason Compilation Tape Vol. 1 featuring new music from some of the artists who inspired us.
