@okodj : A set recorded for La Fête de la Musique event of Oddity Radio, without knowing in advance that it was going to be recorded and published afterwards, which I have liked! This allowed me to play without having the "post live" experience in mind, so it's really honest and raw. The energy was super nice and I have reconnected with a lot of parisian friends at this party !

Musically it's a compilation of my summer favourites, including a bunch of very different genres as always : post punk, sexy house, industrial, amapiano, you name it !

OKO DJ - Oddity Influence Mix

For the final Phase Group Mix of 2022 we invite Loma Doom from Amsterdam to the series. 

Loma Doom - real name Femke Dekker - lives in Amsterdam where she's a vital member of the music scene, a seasoned digger and radio host as well as a curator and educator of contemporary art. Her dedication to radio is quite amazing, holding residencies on Radio Tempo Nao Para, Echobox Radio and Stranded FM as well as Ja Ja Ja Nee Nee Nee, an online radio station dedicated to art.

For her Phase Group Mix she has gifted us with an expertly composed deep listening experience. One hour of shamanic trance moving through dark droning soundscapes, tribal percussion and ancient voices chanting echoing incantations, recorded live at the Radio Tempo Nao Para studios in Amsterdam. Following on from a magic instalment of Braille Satellite festival which took place at Mushroom Manor, deep in the Lithuanian woods, André Pahl, Elina Tapio and Hannah Pezzack joined forces for a b2b2b train at Radio Vilnius. Opening with an ode to Brion Gysin by Genesis P-Orridge, this mix features all the genres closest to our hearts: cosmic clown music, gnocchi rock, weasel-inspired melodies, downtempo, gravelly monologues from middle-aged Brits, choral trance and tripped-out rhythmics.

Outsiders: Offen Music w/ Philipp Otterbach @ Kiosk Radio 03.10.2023

For almost two decades Jeffrey has been a programmer in the underground cinemas of Amsterdam, describing himself as a 'cultural activist'. In this podcast he and Vanja explore diverse soundtracks to neglected and forgotten movies. When the use of music in modern cinema has become clichéd and standardized, perhaps it is better to turn to the abandoned past for inspiration. Therefore in this podcast-journey there is an emphasis on delving into uncharted territory—secret places of mystery and otherworldly alternatives. Jeffrey feels it's in these buried treasures that a hard-hitting counter-culture can be envisioned. During our discussions in between the music tracks there is also an attempt to create a different idea about how music can be used in movies, one where the music clashes against the image rather than melting together with it emotionally.

This selection of music soundtracks traverses many parts of the world, embracing directors like Andrzej Żuławski, Kenneth Anger, Marguerite Duras and Shuiji Tereyama... and features music by Jean Guérin, Andrzej Korzyński, Bernard Parmegiani, Wanda Warska and Toru Takemitsu among many others.

Weird Science is a monthly Sunday afternoon event at Magick City, in Greenpoint Brooklyn.  Catered to enable local and guest DJs to showcase their personal tastes beyond regular club environment.

Presented here is Beau Wanzer's set, recorded live on Sunday March 8th, 2020. The room audio was recorded into the stereo mix during the party.  This was our last event before COVID-19 grounded nightlife in NYC and around the world.  It was truly a memorable one.  Hope you enjoy the vibe:)
