Meddling Kids

This one came about when I was testing my friends Fender Strato and also kinda as a songwriting exercise. I envisioned vocals for the song so there is no lead melody or solos.

Aramaan Koivu

This one was just a random bass riff, going into drums over it and finally adding the guitar. I really like the riff on the guitar as I'm not that great creating melodies or anything.

Hyppivä Kenguru (impro jam)

Again one of those impros I had while training. Started with bass, the drums over that, and finally the keyboard. I'm so glad I found a good sound for it while at the rehearsal place.

I want to credit Yonit Spiegelman on Lessonface (check her out, has awesome bass tutorials).  I've practiced one of her riffs as bass training and this riff is kinda is similar to that.

Testing my new electric guitar. Wanted to make a metal song, it kinda went too much prog. But hey, I'm a little bit proud of the solo riff at 0:42. I'm really bad at crafting riffs so i'll take what I can.

Aura Of Multiple People (impro jam)

This was my attempt at simulating real instruments with just an electric guitar and keyboard. I chose a really generic chord progression and just went from there. To be honest it sounds surprisingly good.

For the rhythm guitar I used ReValver 4 preset "Pretending" to make my guitar sound like an acoustic. For the bass I enabled a very low-end EQ while I recorded the bass part on just a guitar (gotta at least have the feeling you're playing a bass). After that I inserted a pitch-shifter on it to lower it 12 semitones and added a couple of bass plugins (EQ, Comp, Bass Professor 2). Others are just midi piano and drums (Namely EightyEight 2 and DrumMic'a)

Yet again one of those impro jams. Started with a bass riff and drums over it afterwards. While I was playing the riff I decided to create a B-part, just for the hell of it. I dunno if it's good or not, but it was fun creating it.

Abtza Perales (impro jam)

I really like this impro. It started from just the basic riff (first electric, then both electric and acoustic). 
Then I fiddled about with chords to go over it and settled on something that I didn't think would work, until I tried soloing over it. 
The solo itself didn't sound too good, but after adding the delay it kinda came alive. The drum is recorded for 2 bars but looped from that (didn't have time to re-record it fully).

Roovee Saatana (impro jam)

I'm SamJ, a finnish musician.

I do composing, playing, recording and mixing by myself. Drummer at heart, learned to play guitar for the sole purpose of composing music. Later got interested in piano and after that have been trying things with midi and DAWs.

I'm still a rookie, but I hope to be able to make an album someday that I can be proud of.
