"It is almost as if I've slipped back through time, pierced the thin veil of our cyclical reality into a past life. Like putting on an old favored hat for the evening, perhaps just for a moment, you'll imagine yourself in this different life of mine. Walking the streets of Bucharest, we hear Euro synths seeping into the underlying melodies and roaring bass of the late night clubs we pass. It is almost begging us to move with it. So why don't we? 

This scene is the endless source of inspiration that leads me to sessions of creativity and connection and ultimately to my passion for sound. With an eclectic style deeply rooted in my African origins, the soundscapes I now create are culturally refined by the Romanian underground house scene, paced to the heartbeat of the jungle, and constantly unraveling intricate stories. They serve as an invitation into my life and the raw beauty of existence that I have experienced all over the world. 

Sharing sounds from Tulum to Miami, Los Angeles to Cabo, my exploration of music and storytelling invites people everywhere to be reawakened, open to the adventure of that which may still be unknown. Each festival, set, and creative session weaving into the tapestry of my story. This podcast, nonetheless, marks 12 years since the first event I organized in Bucharest. Blending iconic sounds from the early 2000’s with some of the latest releases, sprinkled with spacial audio elements, allow yourself to be transposed through a variety of delightful frequencies. 

Moving to these sounds for what seems like a lifetime, we eventually find ourselves back on the journey down this Romanian street, walking into the now rising sun. Yet no time gained, nor lost - these stories can take us anywhere we like. And here, we wake to find ourselves once more, Los Angeles, 2021, in my serendipitous intersection of these lives past and present. " - @afrotrace

"Most who follow my music journey know of me as a downtempo producer aka slowwwww music.  But when I DJ here in Seattle, I typically play faster tempo dance music. In the last 2 years I haven't really dj'd much with Covid ravaging the club scene here in Seattle. So with this mix, I wanted to act like I was about to DJ a club here. I tried to work in some of my faster original music, with some other upbeat styles. I even tried a few mashups, cause hey, if this were a club, you know I'd try to flex some dj skills :)"  - @samahaofficial

Samaha is an electronic music producer, musician, and DJ currently based out of Seattle, Washington. With music having been a large part of his life from a very young age, he first began creating his own work during college, armed with a small midi keyboard and a laptop. Currently working within the electronic veins of down tempo, deep house, and ambient, he is not limited by genre, and allows personal experience and a passion for exploration to feed his craft. His goal is to travel the world and soak in all the beauty and wonder within. As a solo artist, he has grown exponentially within the past two years, honing his sound into something unique and separate from what often pervades the EDM genre. With plans to bring his work to larger audiences and to use his talents to bring dance music to new heights, be on the lookout for future Samaha releases.
