Born in a land of solitude and good food called East Garland, Sammie Ray(formally known as Johnny McSwaggerton or Johnny Love) is an artist whose passion and love is felt in every cadence, bar and word. Now 24, Sammie started rapping at the age of 16 with his brothers as a fun past-time when the youth weren’t chasing the ladies. Realizing that he had a talent for the art form along the way he started taking his talent on a more serious level around the age of 20. A true student of the game, there isn’t a song, body of work, or artist that gets past him. He studies it all. With a desire to be great and a drive to match Sammie Ray is truly in a space alone. When asked what he represents he simply said three words, “Love. Loyalty. Lord."
