An artist with a rich and varied pedigree, Anton Vishniakov continues to impress with his Rise And Fall production moniker. Operating out of the historic city of Saint Petersburg with its renowned structures and edifices, Rise And Fall has created his own unique sonic architecture that has translated into a string of hits and over a double century of production credits to his name. Continuing the story, "Meridian" now takes a straight line to success.

Inspired by the "true progressive music" of John Digweed's legendary Global Underground mixes in the early years of the 21st century, Vishniakov has harnessed these sounds and built upon them through his work as Rise And Fall. A 2013 debut for Monster Deep thus saw "The Glow" supported by heavyweights that included Hernan Cattaneo, Max Graham and Jerome Isma-Ae as Rise And Fall quickly rose up through the ranks of the underground progressive house scene. A century of credits for Bonzai Progressive tell their own story of success as do releases for Perfecto Black, Intricate Records and John 00 Fleming's JOOF.

A regular on Particles since a February 2014 debut on the "Winter 2014" compilation, "The Vision" then went on to see its own full release in September that year. Remixes of Derek Howell and Michael A followed before an appearance on "Spring Particles 2017" led to the release of the "Traffic Lights" EP that July. The new decade ushered in another original EP, this time in the shape of January 2020's three-track, "Time". A sparkling offering, it is with genuine pleasure that Particles welcomes back Rise And Fall with his twin-track, "Meridian".

The title track is a gloriously dancefloor-ready piece that cruises along with bouncing bassline and shaker-fuelled percussion while sumptuous pads and epic chord progressions add emotion aplenty. Building through white-noise washes that transition between different phases, a delayed arpeggiated motif enters the fray, opening up in the stripped-back breakdown before exploding into the third movement with power and poise. With echoes of Jean-Michel Jarre in evidence through the melodic phrasing, "Meridian" is a joy to behold.

"Supernova" continues the uptempo vibe with its pounding beat and complex percussive arrangement that clicks and pops in syncopated fashion. Modulated synth lines rise and fall with thickly delayed textures and a free-flowing counterpoint motif adds intrigue. Pulsating relentlessly throughout, save for a powerful and emotive breakdown, the addition of vocal breaths and club-friendly construction makes for a strong track.

Two new tracks keep Rise And Fall connected at the centre of the earth through his "Meridian".
