The moustache clad producer/dj @sammybananas started out in Boston together with a fella named Max as the duo Certified Bananas (they did a smashing mix for us in Discobelle back in 2006 called "Sweden On Blast").

Sammy moved down to Brooklyn, became part of the Fool's Gold Records crew, and continues to douse out magical, funky club jams both with his original production work and with remixes for big names such as Chromeo and Maroon5 that manages to pay respect to the classic house/disco sound but also stays ahead of the curve.

This mix for us in Discobelle was made at the same time as Sammy wrecked havoc on SXSW and WMC, we're super glad he took the time out to churn out one seriously amazing mix that should have you dancing well into the summer.

Los Angeles-based producer B. Bravo’s debut album ‘Paradise’ is given new life in the form of a collection of remixes, including the funk-fueled rendition of ‘Freak It’ by Sammy Bananas. 

Released via Bastard Jazz earlier this year, B. Bravo’s eclectic sound profile focusing on outer space g-funk, R&B, and various forms of dance music was on full display with his ‘Paradise’ LP. Now the remix album will look to build on the album’s concepts with a cosmic essence reminiscent of the captivating originals.

Look for ‘Paradise Remixes’, which also includes remixes by PillowTalk, Captain Planet, XL Middleton, Simbad and more, to be released September 29.

Sammy Bananas brings the funk on new single “Gitcha Gitcha” featuring BOSCO and LaDonnis. It’s a perfect follow up to the Sammy-produced “Castles” from BOSCO’s b. project, conjuring classic ‘80s bump with new-school finesse. After the house hijinks of “21” (and its bonkers music video), the slow-n-low “Gitcha Gitcha” puts Sammy B’s versatility on full display, setting the tone for even more singles (and a debut artist LP!) from this Brooklyn producer in 2018.

Now he's back with a remix album that takes the original recordings back into the clubs with slow rolling remixes from both Chancha Via Circuito & Lagartijeando as well as soulful house mixes from DJ Spinna, Pablo Sanchez & Sammy Bananas. Bosq (Whiskey Barons) takes his mix of “Livin' Your Dream” to heavy afro-reggae disco, while Sagaan (Andreas Saag) pushes “The Crow” into deep Detroit analog territories.
