Let's now give a warm welcome to our EPs series all the way from Padova / Italy and uprising producer: Paul Older a.k.a. Paolo Vecchiato, with previous releases on Slightly Transformed and Thunder Jam Records Paul arrives with four stunning afro cuts to the label. As an opener, Paul delivers 'A Boo Kee Moon' filled with a tropical colorful rhythm section, flamin' hot guitar riffs and joyful Afro vocals. Right next to it comes 'Cosmicafricano' dominated by a vigorous bassline ostinato, powerful conga fills and smooth piano chords taking you right straight to the jungle. For our third cut 'Kuma Kuma' arrives as a sexy African anthem escorted by dazzling female vocals, a smooth saxophone solo and breathy flutes making it an exceptional cut to start any set. Our last track 'Monkey Boogie' closes the EP with acid-retro synths, an outstanding disco guitar riff and a perpetuous growing pad taking us back to the disco jungle, stay tuned for more !!

Following early outings on Electric Friends and Spa In Disco, fast-rising producer JMMSTR (no relation to Freerange boss Jimpster) makes a first appearance on Slightly Transformed. There are two tracks to set the pulse racing. Opener "New York" is a confirmed mid-tempo treat: a woozy, 112 BPM shuffler that layers flash-fried guitars and piano-laden snippets from a swirling, string-laden disco classic atop thickset bass and bongo-heavy nu-disco beats. Virtual B-side "You Took" employs bouncier and crispier beats, with the producer utilizing filter effects to tease in elements of a female-fronted disco-funk number. The vocal breakdown is life affirming, but it's the trippy treatment of the sample source's hard-wired guitars that catches the ear.

And Friends is what the label says on the bin: A feeling of commitment, a friendship and a companionship. It’s based around Ezirk, who devised it as a community before adding a layer that is a recording label. 
And Friends strives to release music with a Disco feeling, but with broad boundaries. Just like the idealism behind the Disco movement in the 1970ies: Stay open minded and share the love!

V/A is the fifth release of And Friends and sets a new standard. Ezirk and Chemars are joined by Hotmood, Monsieur Van Pratt and The Velvet Stripes. A Mexican showdown as powerful as the lineup would suggest!

The tracks vary from melodically funky to boogie in your swaying polyester pants. Ezirk says: “I wanted to generate bottom movements globally. It’s a time when people are in dire need of getting their worried minds somewhere else and have fun, dancing at home, hopefully feeling a bit tipsy and lightminded!”
