Liberally
Complain about 
Statues but tear down
Black and brown history
Tell me I have to be happy
You allow me just enough
Trauma to perpetuate 
Handicaps generationally
But fervently deny equity
Baby take a look at me

Does it leave you broke?
If my kid gets to eat free lunch 
Does it take away your guns
Your home

Does it make your God
Any less able to be worshipped?

In tattered droves begging for
Crusts of bread and such

If I want my children to know
Reproductive health
Rather than reductive helplessness
Maybe the cycle of births at 16
Will acquiesce to brilliance
Maybe my child can trust
Exactly who they are
Rather than resort to closets
Where the shotgun lives 
Maybe my children can live
In a world where a hug is what
You give to your Trans siblings
Rather than rebuke them
Shun them until they disappear.
