In the last heyday of Montreal's Mile-End district before Ubisoft employees jacked up lunchtime queues by an hour, Vaughn Robert Squire aka the artist formerly known as Sixtoo lived a couple blocks from me. This resulted in many coffees/meals shared, animal carcasses grilled, instruments broken, and a long-lasting friendship based on mutual respect for each other's contrasting musical perspectives. When his "Chewing on Glass and Other Miracle Cures" LP dropped in 2004, I was asked to quickly throw together a promo mix. As you can tell by the voicemails, I don't do anything quickly, at least when it comes to music.
