Who would've thought one of the first female skateboarders and a psych rock singer would spawn a house music prodigy? If you've seen RA's Real Scenes LA docko, then you might've noticed Sage casually rolling some 'herbs' while being interviewed, so maybe it's not hard to fathom after all... These tracks are not one bit spaced out though, they're all sharp, layered, banging house tracks. Like his previous EPs on Spring Theory and Huxley's No Idea's Original, Sage somehow manages to keep things exciting while using very traditional house structures. I guess it's all in the detail.

@JaxxMadicine is a jazz-funk inspired house’ish outfit from Milan consisting of Turbojazz (Local Talk, GAMM Records), Parker Madicine (Heist, Bastard Jazz Brooklyn, CT-HI Records) and the talented jazz keyboardist ‘Veez_0’. With an organic and melodic sound collage you can hear influences from classic 70s jazz funk labels and artists like CTI, Mizell Brothers, Kudu and Bob James but also the current sounds of Kaidi Tatham, Byron The Aquarius and Harvey Sutherland. 
After their debut EP ”Montreux” they are now ready to drop their full album ”Distant Classic” where the Jaxx crew exit planet earth and treats us to a space music odyssey that is full of surprises. During the journey they deliver house, jazz, fusion, boogie and jazzy beats from a highly melodic keyboard perspective. All tracks are made with a genuine love for analogue synthesizers, fender Rhodes, clavinets and some soulful MPC programming.

Salin Records proudly presents Sable Blancs debut album „Homecoming“. Each Salin Records release is about telling a story and taking you on a journey. The day Sable Blanc told us about the idea of producing an EP based on the memories of a trip to New York City he made with three close friends in the summer of 2018 we instantly fell in love with this idea. After a few months of intense work, it became an LP - Sable Blanc‘s debut album and also a debut for Salin Records as this is the first album for the label. Inspired by the beautiful colours, outstanding energy and peace all around New York City that specific summer, Sable Blanc produced „Homecoming“. Every track on the album is about memories and friendship. For two reasons it felt like coming home for him. He lived a few years in the US and went to high school there. It was amazing to come back and finally meet a very close friend again. Sable Blanc chose a photo for each track - taken by his friend Adrien Philibert - which connects to the moment that inspired the track. Daria Salin developed the photos using the cyanotype, an analogue photo development process that was also used for the cover background. Together with the stories that Sable Blanc tells about each photo, the cyanotypes build an artistic booklet that is a special feature of the album. Homecoming is an album for a quiet, cosy evening, where you sit back in your favourite chair and hold the booklet in your hand to follow Sable Blanc and his friends on their trip to New York City. Icelandic scene veteran ILO steps up to the True Romance plate and cooks up a three-part EP. Known for his remixes for reputed acts such as Sigur Rós, múm and GusGus, ILO harbors a release catalog dating almost two decades, with productions on labels such as Rebirth, Synthadelia Records, Kompakt and Thule Record ́s legendary offshoot 66 Degrees Records dating back to 2001.
Drafted alongside Belle and Sebastian keyboardist Chris Geddes, Restart doesn’t adhere to electronic music conventions, as it blends strains of deep house, ambient, minimal and organic notes alongside glitched vocal loops. Named initially after the troublesome computer operation the artists had to repeat during production, Restart part 2 has taken on the meaning of existential renewal, and explores the theme with its wandering groove and US singer Moji Abiola’s lush vocals. Inspired by people of Berlin after one of the artist’s gigs there, Restart Part #3 travels through dubby basslines and deep house pads that swirl between easygoing breakbeats.

" I used Ableton Live and a recently purchased Push2 Controller, basically following the learning curve of the Push2. I started with programming the drums pattern,using the MPC2000 Snacks From Mars, which made me super inspired, afterwards adding various chords, bits and pieces, mostly using Ableton's Simpler device and stock effects (reverbs, delays, autopan). After I had all tracks coming together, I started arranging, automating stuff and mixing."

"I used the samples from "Quarantine Club" subcategory. All of the sounds were put together in FL Studio, which is my DAW of choice. I experimented and tried to create something similar to 90's rave mixed with modern trap feeling, and I'm happy with the result."
