Based on a true story: 🌎 => 👽👽👽 + 🛸 => 🌌
Area 51 had 9 UFOs. Brave gang of 2 Greens and 1 Grey alien smuggled 2 liter bottle of Mc 115 element to power the saucer. Managed to kick start 9th UFO and press go home button. Eerie humans only wanted alien hi-tech for their wars and destruction  #FreeAliens

While engines roaring and aliens murmuring. I have a confession to make. I'm a Moogaholic. Unconsciously this track is made with:

Dave had worked on an outline track for this with fairly ominous chords building into the actual storm section. It did sound quite stately rhythmically and in my head I could hear more of a driving pulse to reflect an oncoming storm and the storm itself.  The addition of more of an Eastern pulse utilising Darbuka and Rik in the early part and Davul in the ending added the feeling I was looking for. 

Some orchestral brass was added to the start of the storm section which gave it a bit of majesty and I also added a bit of string ensemble too.  I've often used the 'Eduardo Tarilonte', Shevannai vocal VST library in my music. The pure tones of 'Lara Ausensi' are perfect to add an element of mystery to a piece like this. 

Oud (a Middle Eastern short-neck lute) and Ney ( Persian End Blown Flute) add melodic interest and colour to the early part of this track. Use is also made of a Kanun (Qanun) a Middle Eastern stringed instrument, a type of zither.  This appears just before the storm hits. 

Dave had already supplied a solo section and I added some early electric guitar that morphed into more of a supporting riff when his solo started. It worked well that I could bring together electric and synth at the end of the storm alongside a final slightly dissonant chord on the brass. 

The overall piece is very much a weird hybrid of Eastern influences, Prog Rock and Orchestral instrumentation. I think we managed to capture some energy in this piece ... I  hope others think we did too. :-)

Another Ableton Live improv from my wierdos collection. Also with Moog kick and new in 2018 Wavetable synth in Live version 10. I rarely (never?) play vox samples in my mixes. These ones come from Korg Gadget. Why? I am big fun of one of the best experimental, electronic and chillout band of all times - Art Of Noise. We heard a million TV commercials and bacltrack, without knowing the band name in 80's. This is my Art Of Noise mood :)

Musically I wanted to experiment when played this tune on iPhone the other day. Wanted to invert what we usually play as a background and bring upfront. And the other way around pads and harmony to dominate. Just like how you perceive reality when falling a sleep or having Catnap break. Usually i post fresh improv, faster made tune. This one is different. Two years of mixing, mastering, getting dozens of basslines bumping to each other in a slo-mo Pogo dance. Had a blast producing it in Ableton with Arturia synths and IK Multimedia tools. 

Having said that, thats a rule, Fender Strat tipsy guitar noodle improv comes almost as-is, as it happened one good day. You can spend endless time mixing, polishing, growing your skills, but if something just happened - let it be. Power of music is in the improvisation and art of impression. Hope you share that thoughts and enjoy the do. TNX!
