Ultramarine is mostly made on Maschine+, which is no longer here (but missed device very much, collecting dukats :) (AND NOW '21 it is back home! :). It’s cool but I need more knobs, sliders and LED pads as you can see :) And my music piggy bank was not fat enough, so needed to fund the ultimate to my taste Arturia Polybrute. Roland Versevab DAW-lessy drives beloved Moog Subsequent 37CV and new Polybrute. Prock Studio is finally complete … for now. Can't deny, music technology either soft/hardware is a good inspiration driver and helps to express what plays in your head. Get inspired with any unique music style or instruments you play! TNX!

Fantasy is played on Maschine Mikro MK3 with pads and knobs. Only stock drum/bass, synth and the new polysynth. When Maschine software chocked on tracks and FX, rendered tracks into Ableton for tweaking, mixing and to play more embellishments with Polysynth as VST. Mastered with UAD, IK, and FabFilters. Fantasy will go to Uplifting Chillout album titled Love, some day, maybe. TNX!

This song began its life some 20 years ago recorded on Mark's old skool keyboard workstation as a bass line and drum beat, accentuated by a synth melody playing over some electric piano. It sat as that basic version until just recently, when Mark had gotten into horn arrangements, and wanted to try some out, thus creating the impetus for reviving this old tune. Plus, he wanted to get the Eclectic Collective to play the guitar and keys parts on it for a little extra jazzy pizzazz.
He turned it over to the rest of the EC gang with a pretty clear vision of what he wanted structurally. Stephen was first up, adding his driving guitar to the fist part of every verse. Josh deftly chimed in with the response line in every verse. JJ then came into the mix last and sprinkled his magic electric piano and other keys throughout. After all of our parts were in the can, Mark went to work dutifully editing and mixing what you hear as the final product. Stephen then did his pro mastering work on it to add a little bit more shine.
 This was a lot of fun to put together. It doesn't feature all of the EC, but the other guys will be on many upcoming creations. We hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we enjoyed creating it.

Clyde's Glide (Eclectic Collective)

Another one done from the album Wou-Wou & the Wormling, Bitzone, Stricknice, and I have been working on for almost 5 years now! You can definitely hear some of those 2020 themes in these songs. I feel like the world is starting to change and new themes will start emerging, so we had better finish up soon, lol. There are definitely two more songs from the set still to be released, and maybe a bonus track, and then we will be done…It has been a dream to work with these guys! I wonder what's next?

This song began on the last day of the cold January of this year, when Ken sat down at his piano and recorded an improvisational jam. This is the first song Eclectic Collective has done where Ken started it with a piano, so we were all very excited to work on it. 
  Josh was the first one to add a part, adding his fretless bass guitar, and going back and forth with Ken, while he added the drums to match the groove up right. Josh also added the mandolin after the guitars were laid down, as well as the descending synth blasts you hear throughout. Before all that, though, Stephen recorded the half of the thrilling guitar you hear in there. After Stephen had his part down, Tez came along and finished the guitar work. Last, but certainly not least, Mark added the amazing symphonic elements, specifically the horns and flute you hear in there. He also added the cold January wind, represented by his breath and some tinkling bells. 
  Once it was all wrapped up, we asked Stephen to put a bow on it with his expert production, which he came through with, as always.
  As mentioned, this is an extraordinary offering from EC, starring Ken not only on drums, but on the keys, as well. It felt like we were jamming all together in the same room, and hope it comes across that way. We hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we enjoyed creating it.

Imaging hot summer mid-day, having a rest under a tree ... breeze calming you down ...

Musically I wanted to experiment when played this tune on iPhone the other day. Wanted to invert what we usually play as a background and bring upfront. And the other way around pads and harmony to dominate. Just like how you perceive reality when falling a sleep or having Catnap break. When I released this track with Flower Power album November last year, never knew that would post it to the purpose. Now in Spring 2020, last year news were a picnic! We were about Xmas, end-of-year bonus was coming, we were talking about Trump impeachment... good times indeed.

Never posted it though, always thinking maybe today is just enough sht on the news already anyways. Also did not want to post on any specific event. Hoping maybe tomorrow we'll get a relief with something more positive than today. You know that feeling - disturbed, confused, concerned...

When I was a kid always watched that World News TV programs. One from '70s had some special catchy vibe on the opening soundtrack (sorry, I pay attention to any music in any occasion which soundtracks our life, and it stuck in you). Something like that always keeps spinning in my head since. This track, as many, made from scratch on the iPad surface with the Korg Gadget app. Something in between TV news opening jingle and one of my fav songs ever Vicarious by Tool. 

And this photo. I took a shot of this storytelling red brick wall, eaten by salt waters and sun, photo in Venice. The wall on Fondamenta delle Zattere, location of Ospedale degli Incurabili.
