Jamie Jones invites New York’s Dave Turk to Paradise for ‘Let The Spirits Take Me’, delivering the second EP on the newly-launched label.

Born in Rome and raised in Brooklyn, DJ/producer Dave Turk is an artist with a global array of influences spanning. electronic music and beyond, all of which have contributed to his ever-maturing sound. Building on early clubland experiences at Webster Hall and Pacha, his following years and introduction to DJing welcomed sets at NYC staples Cielo and Output while playing for BLKMARKET, Teksupport and The BPM Festival. Having developed his sound palette within the studio across a decade, with releases on Nervous, Howl Records and most recently, Luuk van Dijk’s Dark Side Of The Sun, Turk steps things up as he delivers the sophomore release on Jamie Jones’ newly minted Paradise imprint with his slick two-track EP ‘Let The Spirits Take Me’.

“I’m a huge fan of old school 90s house and approached both tracks with similar vibes. ‘Let The Spirits Take Me’ has more of a melodic yet hypnotic touch to it with the melody. As for ‘Angel Eyes’, it focuses
more on the vocal, which my good friend Michelle Uziel absolutely finessed it with class.” - Dave Turk.

Title track ‘Let The Spirits Take Me’ is a production encapsulating the Paradise sound, with hypnotic synths and warped vocal murmurs ebbing and flowing amongst sharp stabs and rolling drums for an engrossing slice of house music made for Terrace’s, while ‘Angel Eyes’ builds on snaking low-end grooves and slinking drums to unleash Michelle Uziel’s captivating vocals for a release of dancefloor serotonin.

New York native David Berrie makes a welcome return to the Hot Creations fold this April. The latest recruit to join as a resident for Jamie Jones’ Paradise night in Ibiza, Berrie gifts us with three heavy hitting tracks, sure to set dance floors alight across the globe.

Airplane To Madrid opens the EP with its steady groove and funk elements, underpinned by a tribal drum and old school vocal hook that culminate in a jazz influenced breakdown. On Talkin’ Bout, Berrie utilises a fast-paced beat and bouncy, ghetto-house style vocals that lead into another intriguing breakdown. Closing the EP, the bassline of Acid Souls gurgles beneath the female vocal building to an insatiable drop before plummeting back into the heady bass.

Raised in the musical melting pot of New York, David Berrie draws influence from a variety of genres to create his signature style. He’s released on a number of prominent labels including Cuttin’ Headz, Play It Say It and Hot Creations. Last year’s collaboration with Jamie Jones broke into the Top 5 in the Beatport charts and his music has been supported by some of the industry’s biggest names such as Carl Cox, Marco Carola, The Martinez Brothers and Seth Troxler. 2019 is set to be a big one for Berrie, with a residency for Paradise at DC10 and fresh music due to be released.

Seb Zito is no stranger to delivering club-ready hits. He brings his fire to Hot Creations this March, marking his inaugural release on the label. 

“I wanted to incorporate the tech elements from the Fuse sound and combine it with the acid style of Hot Creations, along with little snippets of vocals from my garage influences. I’ve followed Jamie since the early days of Kubicle so it’s an honour to be releasing on his label.” - Seb Zito 

Nut In Your Mouth instantly commands attention with an infectious vocal hook that ripples around the pounding bassline. Flow is a frenetic offering with a chaotic flow and elements of acid that tightly coil together before unfurling into a rich, unadulterated bass conjuring up a sort of rhythmic voodoo. The EP rounds off with Put Your Phones Down feat. Woodzy. The track utilises a burgeoning synth that grows steadily as a hypnotic vocal line bleeds an air of mysticism into it before Woodzy calls us to put our phones down and get up. 

Seb Zito has firmly established himself as a key player on the house and techno scene. One of the core residents of London party starters Fuse, Zito has an unwavering ability to connect with the crowd and regularly plays at some of the world’s most renowned clubs. He runs his own highly-praised imprints Seven Dials and F&Z as well as releasing a slew of well-received EPs on Fuse, Infuse, Play It Say It, Edible, Four Thirty Two, ORIGINS, Rawax & Kaos Theory. 2020 is set to be a seminal year for Seb with plans to grow Seven Dials as a brand and the release of his debut album.
