A cover that I've wanted to do for a long time! Really cool solo and delightful rhythm. Simple Plan is such an awesome band; they've got so much positive energy going even after all these years. :D

So hard to nail the solo and my timing is not as precise as EVH's, but I mean he's EVH! My playing got mechanical after a few dozens of trials so finally I settle with this. Hope you enjoy it :D

Michael Jackson - Beat It Solo Cover Standard Tuning (Eddie Van Halen version)

Delayed a couple times due to string breaking and tight schedule, my new creation is finally done!
Got really motivated by the hot weather weeks ago and I turned the inspiration into this piece! First time tabing drums and bass, and the process was real fun!

Again, EVH+Slash style solo and some interesting licks here and there. I actually really like the intro coz it's just damn powerful! For the mid-section I incorporated tapping to create a melody line, at the same time I got the flanger effect at the back giving it texture.

Exams coming in ten days, better get busy! Enjoy and get motivated!

Rise Rise! (Original Guitar Instrumental)

Man this all began with a simple acoustic riff that I came up with. The whole idea of using audio collage just randomly popped in my head after I imported the track into my laptop. It's weird how I come up with all these recording ideas while alone in my room, messing on a guitar.
Anyway the moment I playbacked the backing track I had the whole plan in mind. It really was that spontaneous. I knew exactly what kind of sonic experience I'm looking for - the old time-ie Cold War/Bioshock/Nuketown illusions, with the vintage quality like old radio songs.
I added segments of Obama's speech on Israeli-Palestinian conflict and Michael Walzer's quote from a podcast I was listening to for my International Relations essay. Gotta say Obama is a genius coz whatever he says fits into any rhythm lol I didn't even edit his bit at all, it just matches my guitar melody perfectly!
This piece of creation does not represent my view towards the two speakers. (Ok maybe subconsciously? Idk)

Haven't created an original track in such a long time. Been missing inspiration lately, both guitar and life. Tried to push for a track or two but it doesn't work that way. They only come when I've got the feels.

This time it's mellow and melancholic, dreamy but unsettling. Traverse through the uncanny valley of happiness with me, and really feel the hidden tension.

When I close my eyes I see Gladiator on the wheat field before his last fight in the Colosseum. Things are gonna turn out great if he wins, but the uncertainty alone haunts his soul.

I've talked to myself too much lately, to fill the void and pacify my goddamn mind. But if you're not like me, just treat this as a serenade and it may put you into good sleep.

Could this be my downfall, or could this be my chance to break out of my cocoon? I don't really know. Time will tell.

But pay no mind to the background static of chatterings, or the hustle and bustle in the rush hour, for the Corridor of Time is nothing but a recurrence of light and darkness, action and stillness, emotion and logic, and everything in between.
