MADVILLA returns for HW008, launching his new ‘Snack Box’ series. The concept is a studio exploration which aims to deliver a mixed bag of flavours utilising analogue and digital hardware to produce a unique and varied package with consistency from start to finish. The series serves as an outlet for creativity with no restrictions on genre or style. Volume 1 consists of 5 tracks ranging from Deep House, Breakbeat Electro and UKG with an additional G-Funk bonus track (Bandcamp exclusive).

<p>Matt Sassari gets straight to business as he opens up with the title track, letting the snappy rhythm section lead the way while an assortment of tense synths battle each other over the rumbling sub bass. The sparser &#8220;Crak Amount&#8221; is up next, led by its rocksteady groove and otherwordly robotic stabs. Mangled, spoken-word passages simply add to the madess and sharp claps clear the air.<br />
 On the EP&#8217;s closer, distressed stabs come together with spacious effects, leading to a post-apocalyptic breakdown as pitched-down vocals are joined with off-kilter atmospherics for a claustrophobic ride.</p>

It's tough creating that high energy in a record using only a few elements, yet Des & Del have nailed it with Next Question.
 
Fresh on the scene, these two best friends from Miami are stamping their mark on the house space with grooves so chunky they barely fit through your ear canals. Next Question is a perfect example of the 'less is more' approach, a raw track driven by a percussive sub bassline and punctuated with a lead stab that throws back to the days of the TB303. Pepper in some airy vocal snips and you've got yourself a dance floor belter.

Keep an eye on these two, we think they'll be pulling some big moves over the next few years.

Detroit’s Dantiez and Damarii Saunderson AKA The Saunderson Brothers make their debut on Toolroom Trax with huge Tech House cut ‘Sapphire’. 

The Saunderson Brothers, sons of Detroit techno originator Kevin Saunderson, have over the last years established themselves as fiercely talented DJ/Producers in their own right. Detroit, for both brothers, has always been their home, and coming from a city with such a profound musical heritage has undoubtedly influenced their hotly-tipped sound. 

‘Sapphire’ is another fire addition to their rapidly expanding catalogue. Harnessing the barrelling energy of Techno tempered by the more groove-led rhythms of House.

Already a firm favourite within the underground House community, Sorley has seen releases on some of the most respected labels in the industry including DFTD, Repopulate Mars, Nothing Else Matters, Snatch!, Jacky & Friends and Under No Illusion to name a few, with support pouring in from Pete Tong, Hot Since 82, Danny Howard, Lee Foss & Annie Mac. 'Face' is a crisp and energetic percussive track that is indicative of Sorley's signature sound infusing an infectious groove, tantalising bass riffs, intoxicating vocals, electrifying stabs and playful percussion. This is another solid release from Nic Fanciulli's Saved Records which shows no signs of slowing down any time soon!
