"In honor of black music month, I created a mix of some of my favorite tracks, records, artists and labels from the 90s to present. The mix spans across different eras and subgenres of house music, keeping depth of rhythm and emotion at the forefront. It showcases my taste for deep cuts, off kilter sounds, and classic underground Chicago and Detroit themes, moving from low to high energy across 90 minutes.  Dedicated to all black music makers past and present. "

The Hot Series continues with one of our dear friends. Please welcome @lucimille into the Hotbox. Born in Charleroi and later based in Brussels, Lucien’s story is one of slow, deliberate immersion. From sneaking peeks with Ezekiel and curating sets alongside kindred spirits, to digging into record bins across Brussels—every chapter adds weight to his selections. 

His Hotbox mix was recorded in a familiar setting: it’s 2023, a summer gathering at Cadzand, nestled between friends and golden light. Sandwiched between Bass Toast b2b Toolate Groove and Alfred Anders, Lucien took the floor at 6:30 PM—with only an hour on the clock. These are tracks shaped by memory and mood, rooted in House but layered with electro, funk, and a keen emotional resonance. "If I had to play it today, maybe I’d tweak a few things," he says. "But the feeling? Still very real." This mix is more than a snapshot. It’s a time capsule. A warm breeze from a summer past, sealed up for whenever you need to remember what dancing outside with friends really feels like.
