The Party People - Set It Off

The Fritz returns to Ragtime Records with a package of jazzy bangers that'll draw the listener back to a bygone age. Close your eyes and you'll be transported into a darkened room, filled with sharply dressed patrons all shrouded in a thick blanket of cigarette smoke as they listen to a jazz ensemble on a stage in the centre of the room. On the edge of the group is an aficionado who sits on a stool, and as he turns you catch his eye and he simply mouths the word... "nice."

'Welcome to Jazz Club' is the A side of Ragtime's latest release, and it features a very nice vocal hook, a sleazy horn lead, and a heavy-weight bassline that'll rattle fillings loose, reawaken long-dormant tinnitus, and annoy the heck out of your neighbours - or maybe all three.
On the AA Side is 'Coming Through Any Time Soon?', a mellow yet glitched-out piano number complete with crisp analogue drums, topped off with a catchy vocal loop, and more than a subtle nod at Golden Era Hip Hop.

Starting out with a true legend All Good Funk Alliance, who has taken the Go Move track featuring Andy Copper for a funky joy ride though some classic breaks and funky grooves. Followed by a big atmospheric redo of Global Chemistry by Mined Music who&rsquo;s taken a melodic hiphop twist on the otherwise oldskool original. The funky supersonic beat force Sonale came in on point as he turns the King Of Rock into his own on a beat and bass heavy funky remix. Freethinker Funk Essence takes a more chillout approach on one of the more instrumental track on the album called Nothing Gonna Change His Way.Roast Beatz takes it back on the floor with the dance friendly funky house remix of the Go Move&nbsp;featuring&nbsp;Andy Cooper on some classic disco funk grooves.Finally we see UK-based Towlie DJ taking the wicked B-Boy Impressions on a funky Drum &lsquo;N&rsquo; Bass ride to firmly conclude the first volume of the Hip Hop Delivery remixes.
