Nopame - Tangomango (soundopamine Remix)

Producing under his techno moniker ‘NEUMANN’, Tobi Neumann delivers his first WCF release - a four track EP - available in vinyl and digital format - titled ‘Coaster’ which also includes a remix by club’s resident Kyle E.

Beginning with the prowling track ‘Coaster’, its slow and steady pace eases the listener into a sultry sound from NEUMANN, evidently making a clear divide between his usual house/disco induced productions as ‘Tobi Neumann’. A rolling groove entails with a clear cowbell and tinkling melody, smoothly layered over a subtle kick drum and moody bass line.

‘Broken voices’ opens with a mean kick leading to a significant change in tone from ‘Coaster’ with a sense of urgency entwined through an undulating melody. A blend of scintillating synths over a menacing bass shows the spacey side of NEUMANN, who’s not afraid to explore the muddier side of electronic music.

The third track ‘Atlantis’ revolves around an accelerated rhythm accompanied by thundering modular-percussion. Woven with broken bleeps and high-energy synths, it’s a powerful track appropriate for an intimate, sweaty and weird rave.

Finishing off, a remix of ‘Coaster’ from Egg’s and label’s resident Kyle E. The burgeoning producer and selector puts his own uplifting stamp on NEUMANN’s venture into murky techno. With a throbbing bass and crisp bells, it’s the rich analogue use with shades of euphoria that make it a perfectly atmospheric track to end NEUMANN’s first WCF release.

Our latest release on what Came First has been produced by Italy's newest export, Knowhat, who has delivered two original works blended with shades of uplifting house and tech house rhythms.

The original track 'Feel it' is a high-spirited, house-infused creation with soulful vocals and punchy drums, showcasing the artist's ability to shy away from the driving tech house sound he's usually known for.

'Make My Body Groove' is a sultry, alluring piece with infectious, groove-tinged percussion. Suitable to captivate any dancefloor worth its salt from the beginning to end.

Frankfurt based producer Basti Grub is also featured on the EP, re-working the title track. Having touched it down with a minimal techno bass-line, Grub has artfully kept the male vocal hook rolling throughout the mix.

Egg LDN resident Kyle E delivers another WCF release, 'Wavetable', including a remix from an old friend of the club, Guido Schneider.

'Wavetable' opens the three track EP, a combination of ethereal synths and
undulating baselines form the basis of this melodic production before an unusual hook adds another dimension to the track. An oscillating filter peters in and out, adding a summery feel to this mesmerizing production, instantly taking the track up a notch to an almost spiritual rhythm.

'You Called' is a blend of dreamy synth work and tight drums. With a twist of
melancholia, it's on par for a set of a certain style - think outdoors, beneath the sunshine - with a slow-burning pace that still manages to captivate the listener from the get-go.

Guido's Schneider's remix of 'Wavetable' is also featured on the EP; a solid 90s influenced mix that's suitable to warm up a chilled out dancefloor. A more
upbeat take on Kyle's original mix, it's the perfect finish to a pulsating EP from the London based producer.

What Came First's second V.A.'s album comes in the form of club-focused house and techno productions from Egg residents Kyle E and Luther Vine, long-running friends Anderson Noise, Transcode and 7XINS, as well as an array of fresh, talented producers such as Sandro Inturri, bu go, Odra and Sablin.

Each producer adds a different element to the EP in their own unique way, some going down the route of chunky, crowd-pleasing productions while others have gone towards a trippy, hypnotic sound for the more discernible dance floor.

After releasing a slew of EP's from a range of established artists, WCF Volume 2 is about highlighting the new names who have left an impression on the club over the last year.

Like the Egg  London dance institution itself, the release covers a full spectrum of Techno from dubby minimal tones to big room beats along the journey.

Joining the WCF imprint with his ‘Distorted Time EP’, the Manchester based Transcode brings his driving sound to Egg LDN’s in-house label to showcase his versatile approach to production.

With the vinyl press being released at the beginning of November, followed by the digital version, which includes the bonus track ‘Backlash’, due out on 14th December, the EP includes two remixes by the club’s close friends Secret Cinema and OC & Verde.

Manchester based OC & Verde bring their stamp to the release with their remix of ‘Rotation’. Using a blend of drawn-out synths to build up a powerful lead, packed with raw percussions, it certainly shows the sonic direction the duo has been working on over the last year.
