This transcription was made in 2017 for the distinguished organist Professor Henry Fairs, intended to act as a prelude to Liszt's Variations on 'Weinen, Klagen, Sorgen, Zagen'. In this recording, it is performed live at Birmingham Cathedral.

Performed on the stunning, newly restored organ of Tewkesbury Abbey, this disc explores the relationship between two of the nineteenth century's greatest cultural titans. This is a 'live' recording from St Philip and St James Church, Cheltenham made in August 2019. As this was done in one take please forgive background noises and the occasional blemish. The organ is a beautiful three-manual Hunter instrument of 1895, restored by Walker in 1980.
