On a Plane

"Almost Free" tells the story of a young man locked in the grip of psychosis — not confused, but certain he’s done something unforgivable. (he has not) He believes he’s killed two girls. He repeats it like a ritual. Not to shock, but because it feels true. 

Medication offers a rare stillness — a glimpse of peace. But his mother, more disturbed by the weight he gains than the torment he carries, calls it unnatural. She stops the treatment. Not out of care. Out of vanity. 

The voices return. Louder. 

He runs — not to die, but to silence the storm. To find a moment of nothing.
He survives. 

So they lock him up, move him on, stamp the file.
Someone else’s problem now. 

He didn’t want to die.
He just didn’t want to live like that. 

He was almost free.
But peace made him inconvenient
