hi everyone/anyone:)

my name is Sam and i’ve been making unique music for some years now - for short films, natural history projects and also purely for music as an expression of art and abstract ideas. lately i’ve been pushing myself to make more uplifting music, with a sense of awe - as a kind of escape from 2020.
 

so i’ve put together a portfolio of recent musical pieces that are in a style that i think could work in a sci-fi/fantasy/open-world kind of game (i imagine something/somewhere beautiful). the intro is a bit dark at first, but then it progresses (the intro is really meant as an escape from this awful reality we’ve found ourselves in recently!). overall there’s a generally ‘open’ and ‘floating’ theme to this collection of music.


some of the pieces are for upcoming releases, and a few were for a podcast i’ve started and one of them is for a project that involves music for plants. they’re all snippets of longer works - if anyone is interested i can upload/link the full versions. none of them were specifically written for games, but they were written with other places, or images, in mind - and i think a similar style could work nicely in some games. 

i’d love to get into the video game industry from the position of composing/scoring. i’ve got experience in scoring short films and natural history work, but am yet to do any kind of game.

any feedback is welcome. i thought i’d reach out to some indie developers that i admire - im open to suggestions for studios, if anyone has any in mind. and obviously, if anyone here is working on a project that could use some lush soundscapes in the score, please get in touch.

My name is Sam and I create a wide variety of music and sounds - often starting with acoustic sources, but in the end, fusing them together electronically. The results can come out light and euphoric, or darker and tense - but consistently they end up with a human character.
