For our 101th podcast we would like to kick things off with some new blood. Colomboi is a Bogota born and based DJ who focuses on fast and groovy sounds. Having shaped his taste in London for a couple of years he returns back to his country ready to prove that not all fast techno has to be hard and disruptive, he brings a very much needed approach of sounds that will inevitably make you shake your hips. With this podcast we’d also like to present Colomboi as a new member of our THC family, we’re very glad to have such an exciting talent with us and we are sure he is a great addition to our team. At the end of the year he’ll also release his debut album in our Raw Quarter label, but for now be prepared to go on a journey that will show you a new kind of techno packed with grooves as well as with thumping sounds.

Originally from Kochi prefecture, now residing in Tokyo. He started organizing his own nights in 2011 where he honed his dj skills. Playing anything from classic to cutting-edge tracks, his smooth mixing brings a unique tension and intonation to the ﬂoor through individualistic loops. 

By gaining his reputation through his dj sets and an insatiable pursuit of the techno scene led him to play regularly in Osaka as well as various venues in mid and West Japan. 

As an organizer he has brought over many prevalent modern techno artists such as Claudio PRC, Ness, Luigi Tozzi and Refracted, in order to evolve the techno scene in Japan. In 2014 he moved to Tokyo where he linked up with his main partner Kannabi to start the techno party Katharsis.

In recent years his music production skills have ﬂourished, hence, set up the label Katharsis Recordings. The ﬁrst release is sprit 12 from the Label founder Masafumi Take and Kannabi. Also include Iori and Takaaki Itoh remix. The Second release will be out in May on vinyl.
 
He is recognized as the next generation to take up the techno mantle in Japan.

Originario de la prefectura de Kochi, ahora reside en Tokio. Comenzó a organizar sus propias noches en el 2011, donde perfeccionó sus habilidades como DJ. Tocando cualquier cosa, desde pistas clásicas hasta pistas de vanguardia, su suave mezcla aporta una tensión y entonación únicas a la sala a través de loops individualistas.

Al ganar su reputación a través de sus sets de dj y una búsqueda insaciable de la escena techno, lo llevó a tocar regularmente en Osaka, así como en varios lugares en el centro y el oeste de Japón.

Como organizador, ha traído a muchos artistas techno modernos predominantes como Claudio PRC, Ness, Luigi Tozzi y Refracted, para hacer evolucionar la escena techno en Japón. En 2014 se mudó a Tokio donde se unió a su socio principal Kannabi para iniciar la fiesta techno Katharsis.

En los últimos años, sus habilidades de producción musical han florecido, por lo que creó el sello Katharsis Recordings. El primer lanzamiento es sprit 12 del fundador del sello, Masafumi Take y Kannabi. También incluye el remix de Iori y Takaaki Itoh. El segundo lanzamiento saldrá en mayo en vinilo.
 
Es reconocido como la próxima generación en tomar el manto techno en Japón.

Es un DJ colombiano que, en los últimos años, ha logrado abrirse camino en las escenas nacionales e internacionales gracias a su estilo inconfundible, su capacidad de experimentación y sus atmósferas que se perciben en cada canción y presentación. Su estilo de composición, que algunos han llamado techno hipnótico o de tendencia minimalista, ha sido bien recibido por importantes DJs tanto en Colombia como en el extranjero.
Esto le permitió lograr nuevas colaboraciones para lanzamientos y sets de DJ.
