A promising track of EP2, plays around with a catchy and naive vocal phrase, insisting that ‘Sometimes It’s Hard’. The statement, sung by a soft but mechanical female voice, is underlined by a glitchy and relentless breakbeat layered with visceral subs. The track’s weltschmerz disposition is equally seductive and destructive, which makes ‘Sometimes It’s Hard’ an unusual tune that will satisfy both seasoned ravers and a wider festival crowd.

EP2’s mesmerising cover art, a piece created for affected called ‘Crinoid Scanner’, was made by local 3D artist Caroline Vang. The work is inspired by the alien yet familiar look of crinoid fossils. Finding her inspiration in the most alien and quirky parts of nature, Vang specializes in an experimental and surreal play of texture and shape, to challenge the line between fiction and hyper-reality.

"Pressure" is the first EP by the artist from Milan Antoine Caline. Pressure is a project built in the years from 2021 to 2024. The project aims to represent the emotions and changes faced by the artist over these years through the use of sustained notes and layers of repetitive sounds. It presents drone/ambient sounds capable of transporting the listener in an inner journey, creating an emotional, deep and evocative experience. 

Antoine Caline is an electronic producer based in Milan. In 2017, he began working on production and made connections with Italian artists on soundcloud.  This has led to various trap genre publications under another name. In 2021 he decided to change his career and move towards a more experimental sound, which led to the development of "Pressure" and numerous other tracks coming out.

“Simulacrealm” is one of Archer 23’s most conceptually ambitious pieces—a sonic exploration of reality, illusion, and the spaces where digital and emotional worlds blur. The title itself hints at a layered experience, and the music delivers: intricate, evolving, and immersive from the first note.

The track opens with a crystalline atmosphere—glitch-like textures and refracted synth tones that feel both futuristic and introspective. As rhythmic elements emerge, they create a sense of motion through an artificial landscape, evoking imagery of simulated skies and dreamlike architecture. Each layer seems to question what’s real and what’s constructed, echoing the philosophical undertones of the piece.

Archer 23’s production is meticulous, yet it never feels sterile. Beneath the polished surface lies a pulse of human emotion—yearning, curiosity, perhaps even disorientation. It’s this balance between precision and feeling that makes it resonate so deeply.

“Simulacrealm” is a mesmerizing fusion of sound design and sentiment—a digital mirage rendered with striking emotional clarity. Archer 23 transforms abstraction into atmosphere, crafting a world that’s as haunting as it is beautiful.
