But they'll never notice the gold I keep stashed in the back of my eyes

Tip-toe away
Out the back door

I'm still dreaming in the evening
Skating on stainless steel razors when I should be sleeping
Passing fever and I'm dreaming

Clean off my dusty old journal and swallow my fingernail dirt 
I’ll set the curfew and you’ll pull the curtains and feed me dessert
Scratching my head in the morning, and wonder why everything’s wrong
Let all the hours go by and then realize I waited too long
