Prophecy is one of my most lyrical songs and one i am very proud of. I intentionally made the beat quieter in this song so my vocals would be the focal point of the track allowing the audience to hear exactly what i'm saying. The chorus was a depiction of modern day society how most people see themselves as prophets and will do anything to become famous. Even if it means being a hypocrite. This song is the third single off my upcoming EP 19.

That’s just how it goes is the third and final of a trio of singles released for his upcoming album.

Svirgo19’s smooth vocals slide gracefully over the carefully crafted instrumental. It lyrically touches on a range of aspects in teenage and young adult life. From life itself, self-reflection, the aspirations of becoming well known but all the pitfalls that come with it as well as religion and drugs.

The chorus “that’s just how it goes” is a motif for all those things in the form of a simplistic, pessimistic repetition of the phrase “that’s just how it goes”.
In a forced sense of accepting the problems of the world around us. But not letting them takeover and affect life. Baltimore native and Spillage Village member a group which houses the likes of JID, 6LACK, EARTHGANG, Mereba, Benji & Jurdans brother Hollywood JB. “The Path To Paradise Begins In Hell” follows the success of recent singles “Something In The Water,” “On & Off” & “That’s Just How It Goes.” Svirgo19’s debut album announces the Sheffield-born rapper onto the rap scene.

Having recruited a plethora of artists (including Spillage Village member Jurdan Bryant) to join him on this project, Svirgo19 is one to keep an eye on. His lyrical approach to this project is centred around his unique cadence and flow and his ability to captivate his audience with his storytelling and tone.

‘The Path To Paradise Begins In Hell’ is a reflection and narration on my life so far and just an incredibly small dose of what I have experienced; there’s still so many stories to tell…the album discusses love, drugs, social media, what it means to be a young adult in this 21st century, truth, lies, parties, religion and struggling to find meaning in things.”

‘The Path To Paradise Begins In Hell’ is the first project that sees him move away from his signature lo-fi sound we’ve become accustomed to. After nearly a year of not releasing any music, Svirgo19 introduces a vastly different, new soundscape inspired by the nuvo-wave of alternative black musicians including Saba, and Skepta. The album was entirely produced by Svirgo19 and engineered by close friend Haris ‘Apollo’ Shaikh.

“This album has been an experience to say the least, obviously being a young, solo & independent artist not from London comes with its challenges when you are trying to organize the creation of an album in your vision pretty much by yourself. To see it all come to fruition after all the planning and preparation I did before moving to London in September last year I feel so blessed to be around people who I met and became a part of this. It honestly makes me so happy and everything I’ve learnt and experienced throughout has changed me.”

Not allowing the troubling times he has experienced to hold him back, Svirgo19 has instead fashioned a sound unique to him with this debut record. With his aspirations to be recognised not only in the UK but all over the world he plans to continue his ascent to join the pantheon of international rap greats that inspired his childhood; his tireless energy, work-rate and drive were never going to allow him to settle for anything less.

Laughing in the Wilderness draws inspiration from NewDad, Fontaines D.C., and the raw confessional energy of other indie icons. The writing process for "Fade Away" was incredibly fun so much so that i ended up writing 3 different versions of the song until i settled on the 3rd version which you are hearing now. This song is the start of where i plan to take my music down. I drew a lot of inspiration from Saba, Loyle Carner , Spillage Village and Jurdan Bryant. This song is part of a triplet of singles that are being released every month from February for my upcoming EP "Strangers in the Night".
