London-based DJ and producer Rommek releases on 47, showcasing his signature brand of seething, fragmented techno in this formidable label debut.

"Arkho" opens the EP with rolling drums before a heavily distorted synth line pierces the atmosphere, evoking tension and unease before launching into a furious lead. On "Silverlock," broken drums skitter across a droning soundscape, while a glitched-out melody adds a dark tint. "Decipher" squirms with a similarly syncopated rhythm and ice cold textures, topped with crisp hi-hats. Closing track "Synthetic Dream" is threatening but never overly dark, stitching weighty drums between tactile, warped-out synth notes. A chilling cut that conveys Rommek's shadowy aesthetic all the way through.

Ollie bio:

Ollie is a DJ who approaches the craft with a dedication to digging deep. 

From his early days playing at free parties around southwest UK, he relocated to London, where he got to play at well-established clubs, such as Heaven and others that are long gone, like Herbal. 

A year or so spent working for Redeye Records took him further east to Ipswich, before life brought him back to London, these days regularly playing at Deptford’s Endeavor.

His sets navigate a wide spectrum of machine music, fused with underlying threads of syncopated rhythm, bass weight, and a distinct current of raw funk.

Nems-B (Nahim Bendjilali) (@nemsb), born in 1979 in Aix-en-Provence, is a French DJ and producer with over 20 years of experience. Rooted in Soul, Funk, Jazz, and Hip Hop, he embraced House and Techno in the mid-90s. Known for his refined selections and technical skills, he runs the podcast/event platforms Phonons (@phonons-net) and Deepness Road. He has performed at top venues across France (Concrète, Glazart, Terminal, La Java, Les Jardins Suspendus) and internationally at Tresor (Berlin), Paral·lel Festival (Spain), Contact (Tokyo), Vurt (Seoul), Gare (Porto), and more. His music has been released on Oslated, Geometrika FM, On Board Music, Goldmin Music, Accent Records, with upcoming EPs on Lemme Records. The best is yet to come.

Les Chaos Ambiants (@leschaosambiants) returns for its fourth edition from August 29 to 31, 2025, in Sommant, deep in the Morvan Natural Park (Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, France). Kyntral is a co-founder of the Argentinian label Danza Nativa and he serves up a deeply immersive trip here. 'Inner Depths' is liquid deep techno in the mould of Neel or Donato Dozzy. Percolating rhythms and dubby undercurrents subsume mind and body while deft little details place you underwater. 'Bloodstone' is a little more lumpy with gentle smattering of percussion of drums that bump. 'Ancient Apparition' is a spacious sound with wispy pads disappearing to infinity, glassy tinkles and undulating drums all getting you into a meditative state. The Patrick Russell Phantom remix is more warped and dark to add a nice counterpoint.

There’s a special kind of trust when a festival makes someone a resident. For Les Chaos Ambiants, that someone is Lynne. We’ve partnered with this boutique French festival for the second year, sharing the sounds and stories behind their lakeside weekend in the wooded hills of Sommant. The festival thrives on curation that feels personal, lineups that move like chapters in a book, sound systems tuned to catch every detail, and a setting where the air itself seems to carry the low-end.

Lynne embodies that approach. Originally from Japan and now based in London, she’s built a reputation on mixing low-lit atmospheres with rhythm patterns that shift just as you think you’ve caught them. Her triumphant comeback to our podcast series finds her opening the spectrum: warmer tones, space between the beats, a subtle dub pulse, and even flickers of jazz phrasing. Yet the structural backbone remains hers, breaks that fold time and pacing that keeps you just ahead of the next turn. It’s not a departure, it's more like a widening of the frame, perfectly in sync with the spirit of Les Chaos Ambiants.

Shiro is the Samurai Music offshoot created specifically for emerging artists first solo release on vinyl. 

Torn is a new face to the Samurai camp and our first signing from Russia. A St Petersburg native, Torn has been developing over recent years into one of the most interesting producers in the half step community with his tracks featuring heavily in the sets of many of the scenes most prominent DJ’s including Presha, Loxy, & Clarity. 

The Grethen EP is a gateway to the Torn sound. ‘Stagnation’ is the most traditional Drum and Bass of the EP with it’s bouncing, grunting lurch. ’Grethen’ goes down low and deep, while ‘Self Reflection’ is the tune bound to populate many DJ sets with it’s tribal percussion. ‘Insomnia’ ups the intensity with frantic, restless energy to close the EP. More Torn music to come on Samurai later in 2017..

Releasing music since 2009 as Sam KDC, British artist Samuel Wood has grown into one of electronic music's most passionate developers of the outer edge. In recent years, Sam has been an integral part of the Grey Area label and sound, a creative musical pathway that ties a musical bridge between 85 and 128 bpm with crafty polyrhythms. As further evidence of his versatility, his debut LP 'Late Night Innominate' Vol 1 (2015 - Auxiliary) was an entirely ambient long player which found favour across the electronic music world for its emotive power.

Omen Rising, Sam’s debut LP for Horo is also his first full length record to focus entirely on beat driven work. The album further incorporates the occult themes Sam has been using as pervading signifiers since his 2014 EP ‘The Order and the Entity’. Musically, Omen Rising sees the Grey Area sound re built into a hurtling fireball of energy stretching the constraints of what we know as Techno until the straps are blown off. 

Omen Rising is a confident showcase from an artist who has found a defining sound and is revelling in his ability to develop it entirely out on his own.
