Fresh out of Russia, Ozma delivers a action packed EP to the Serial Killaz camp. With a total of 5 upfront tracks, it’s a big offering to DJs who play across the board. If you like your drum and bass fused between sub genres then this really is one big sonic adventure for your ears.

Ozma’s EP kicks off with a slab of synth chords which some may reflect on being very ‘Piper’. The progressive element of this tune really does take effect from the first beat and it’s dynamic range is something else.

Who would have thought that hip hop vocals, grunge and drum and bass would fuse together so well? Well in the case of ‘University’ it sure is a winning combination. Knock your block off bass combined with a real stick in the mud breakbeat selection provides the ultimate chemistry here.

The sounds of ‘Iron Hammer’ resonate hard through the speaker box as this tough, rough and ready tune smacks 7 shades of bass across the dancefloor. It’s mid section structure change will knock even then most experienced MC in the game momentarily. Drumstep meets industrial drum and bass.

‘Hybrid’ is exactly that, a mixture of styles and flavours that combine into one almighty wallop
of funk.

Finishing up the EP ‘Plutonium’ does a fine job at scattering wide eyed ravers pupils into oblivion with it’s hectic, drum fueled supersonic bass riffs. A high octane ride into the world of Ozma and his wild imagination.

Something a little different from the Serial Killaz camp and maybe a sign for future releases. Drum and bass really is a worldwide offering and with a bucket load of influences from across the border, this EP really does show how far we have come since the early days of the scene being locked down.

2009 saw the release of the first ‘Way Of The Samurai’ compilation which established the Samurai Music name early on with memorable tracks from the likes of Klute, The Upbeats, State Of Mind, Trei, Dose, Menace and more. 

For the 5 year anniversary of Samurai Music, we decided it was time to celebrate the occasion with another unique formation of producers we respect from all sectors of the Drum and Bass spectrum in a sequel to our first successful compilation. From the seasoned expertise of names like Marcus Intalex, Klute, ASC, Loxy &amp; Resound through to fresh talent Clarity, Pessimist, &amp; Overlook and introducing new names Mercy, Subtension, &amp; Paragon, there is something to please anyone who likes Drum and Bass in ‘Code Of Honour’.  

'Code Of Honour' is what we believe to be a comprehensive snapshot of what is great about Drum and Bass in 2012. As always with our beloved genre 'Code Of Honour' has moments that point firmly to the future and moments that celebrate and summarize all that has been great in the genre's history. 2012 has been the best year in Samurai Musics 5 year history and we feel this is the perfect cap to a year where we achieved many of our initial goals and built a firm foundation for further development in the years to come. 

The name 'Code Of Honour' refers to the Bushido code and the 5 12" samplers from the album are each named after an essential virtue of the Samurai code.

Core members of the hand-picked elite force that make up the Technique Recordings roster, No Concept are known as much for their eclectic selection of influences as they are for sheer dance demolition.

And here's how they're setting their stall out for 2020.

First up is a trip down memory lane with 'Be the 1'. No Concept deliver pitch perfect old skool vibes in the intro with pitched-up vocals, breaks, stabs...all that 1991 goodness. But behind the throwback facade lies a militant smasher aimed straight at contemporary dancefloors. The savage bassline assault blended masterfully with the retro elements means this is going to find fans amongst selectors of all persuasions.

Then 'Remember' flips the script. No Concept take us through moods of anxious tension, soulful emotion, and hyped anticipation before we've even got to the drop. Moments of melody and harmony signal that this tune isn't going to do things by the book. The dark minimalism of the drop, made from rolling beats and modulating bass tones punctated with gorgeous floating vocal samples, is a call to arms that's guaranteed to resonate with ravers.

No Concept live up to their name once again with two tunes that defy neat categorisation. The constantly evolving style of these producers means that each one of their releases delivers something new every time. Better pay close attention.
