MY DREAMS BY SAMYWATS

2 hours south of LA lies San Diego, a forgotten border town turned tourist oasis.  Look deeper into the heart of the city and you’ll find the  street savvy - Samy Watson aka Samy Wats. Born in Alexandria, Egypt to a native Egyptian mother and an African-American father born in Memphis, Tennessee. He was brought up in a culturally diverse household where music was an integral fixture. His dad regularly played jazz and blues in the house while his mother was always listening to Egyptian music. At the age of five, two years after arriving in California, he was introduced to a dynamic new sound that left quite a lasting impression. As a young kid, his affinity for hip-hop was nurtured via the sounds of 90s hip-hop figures like The Notorious B.I.G., 2pac, and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony as well as Snoop Dogg and Too Short. “ His influences are revealed through his commanding flows and smooth melodic vocals.

Samy Wats has shared the stage opening for the likes of Nipsey Hussle, Ace Hood, and Maino to name a few. In 2013 he toured Japan as the opener for Soulja Boy. Recently Samy has been in the studio cooking up new music with LD (DJ for Sublime With Rome) in the Hollywood Hills and is due to release new music.
