Sanathana / Sanhata (Swaroop Guhathakurta), is a Music Producer, Composer, Arranger, Re-Mixer and Digital Graphics Designer born in India, lived in the UK for many years, currently residing in Dubai (UAE).

+ He started experimenting with Music Production Software and Hardware in the year 1998. The first few tunes were written using the Roland MC307 Groovebox, Yamaha DX-100 and an Edirol Midi Interface connected to the PC where he used to record what he played and Improvised Live on a software called Sound Forge. However, this was a period of Self-learning and experimentation. None of this material was ever released but can still be heard on a site called soundclick.com where his alias was Psy-Dimension. His first 2 independent solo albums as ‘Sanathana’- ‘Puppets’ and ‘Saraswati’ were released in the Year 2007-8.

+ His Passion for Art & Music changed his life in 2012 when he quit the Corporate World of a Full-Time Job as a Senior Business Planning Analyst and decided to dedicate his life to Art, Music and all things Creative. This change came with a lot of sacrifice and dedication to his belief and choice of walking the path of – All Things Creative! Since then, he believes its only one way and that is to live in the present moment taking the route moving forward with the choice he made.

+ Since this decision, he has been active in the world of Art & Music having released many singles, EP’s, Albums and Free Releases of the work that has kept him busy till date. He has been successfully performing on stage for Various Gatherings, Private Events, Special Occasions and Select Festivals across the Globe.

+ In 2015, He successfully performed and conducted a Sound-Art and Frequency Healing Experiment through 7.1 Surround Sound in a well-known Cinema in The United Arab Emirates to a Full Capacity Audience. Since then, he has been actively performing Live at various Sound-Art events across the UAE (Dubai & Sharjah), USA (California), India (Bangalore & Kodaikanal), Italy (Bologna), Germany…and the journey continues!

+ His style of music production is unique and versatile with emphasis on LIVE improvisation and on-the-fly sounds that he plays on Musical Instruments and Hardware Synthesizers. He portrays his skills by producing and composing music in various styles / genres but is not limited to these and is constantly experimenting with a wide range of Musical Genres:

– Psychedelic Music
– Psychedelic Trance
– Dub and Psydub
– Hindustani Classical and Ethnic Fusion
– Cinematic and Soundtracks
– Surround Sound and Sound-Art Experiments
– Chill-out and Down-tempo
– Avant-garde and Experimental Music
– Ambient Soundscapes
– Live Jam and Improvisational Experiments

+ The above mentioned styles are only to categorize the music that is understood by the masses. However, Sanathana / Sanhata doesn’t like to categorize and sub categorize music which he believes is a form of art and expressionism and needs to flow without having them put in a box.

+ Already linked with many major labels such as Samana Records / Nabi Records / Active Meditation Music / Geomegnetic Records / Labyrinthine Crew / Bass-Star Records and more, Sanathana / Sanhata is surely here to stay and share his music with like minded people across the globe.
