Subreal is pleased to announce its sixth release, War Bride (SR006) from label co-founder Amazondotcom. 


Amazondotcom returns from a hiatus with a new 5-track EP, full of sonic and emotional dimensionality. In this work, she continues her ongoing investigations into twisting rhythms, deep sub-bass, heavy percussion, and the intertwining of organic and synthetic sound design. 


According to the producer, she worked with longer, but often simpler, loops to fill repetitive time with variation, which was reflective of her own personal time during production. She began these tracks with the “simple idea that small feelings and perceptions can scatter and morph across time, taking on their own narratives and life forces. This can happen melodically, rhythmically, in dance, and in personal and/or political experiences.” 


Amazondotcom is a music producer based in Los Angeles and one of the founders of electronic music label Subreal. Her first solo EP, Mirror River, was released in 2019.

The years are passed on to the elderly, and the elderly sing to the children. Unfamiliar and uncomfortable.

A song for several lifetimes, then blurred and reduced to a hum.

People who have forgotten where home is, believe in deceptive signposts.

Festive steps backwards, one step to the left, two steps to the right, singing without using the mouth, humming, not knowing who is who.

Faces ingress into kids, laughing and jumping, shouting and pissing. Darkness pours into midnight musume, floating in the water, two eyes, three eyes, not me, not me either.

The river waves all the way. Stars that lead the singing, towards the ripples of the bells, stumbling and untidy.

Hipergueto is the first EP as a soloist by producer and singer Sánchez, who is part of the urban collective Fosa Común, that has more than 20k followers on YouTube where the videos of the album are planned to be published. Hipergueto was produced and performed by Sánchez in its entirety, and was mastered by Washi Hana, producer and director of the Mexican label Memorial Mx, who has collaborated on songs by Noa Sainz, P.Flxws, among others. The word hyperghetto is a term used by the sociologist Zygmund Bauman, where he describes the globalized world as a hyperghetto, where one lives to hunt or be hunted and where the problems of each space, city or country affect others, for being all connected. The idea of this EP is to represent the dreamlike feeling generated by the global connection and the situations of excess stimuli that have us confused. Hypergueto seeks to lower the defenses of the unconscious to enjoy and think that things may be a little different. The cover was done by London-based artist Eric Hesselbo.
