TEMPERAMENTAL CLUB SOUND kicks of with a multilayered five track EP by co-founder Malugi. Picking up on the energy-driven and fun-loving sound he is best known for, Malugi proposes an idiosyncratic take on various styles of dance music: Ranging from UK Techno to Electro to Jersey Club, he showcases an open-minded approach towards music that is prone to exhilarate joy.

Throughout the EP, he upholds a distinct pop sensibility, creating music that resonates in an almost visceral bodily experience — a phenomenon commonly referred to as the Malugi effect. While he dips his toes into a wide array of influences, one common denominator remains: A strong commitment to cater to the highly intensive and universally longed-for corporeal pleasures of the dancefloor.

Hello! I made a special mix for Misk FM.

Basic Moves boss Walrus and Colombian artist Adi’s new imprint For Playful Manners returns this June with its second release, coming from Lisbon’s Penelope and Lima’s Ludovic.

For Playful Manners” is a new label run by Raquel Rivera-Lys aka Adi from Colombia and Basic Moves head honcho Michiel Claus aka Walrus from Brussels. Dreamt up spontaneously during a shared afternoon of listening to music in Berlin, the label’s manners centre on the feelings of friendship and fun in music, though its feet are always itching for the dancefloor and its various scenarios, while its head is turned firmly towards the future. Crisp music is the message every time, with each split EP also thoughtfully balanced: male/female, machine/soul, robot/alien, flower/tree... The artwork takes the form of a puzzle, which has to be solved to discover the tracks and their makers. Let’s play!

This time around we present to you Penelope and Ludovic who share roots in the same culture but have been influenced by different surroundings in a lifetime journey.
