Es war einer dieser Abende wo einfach alles gepasst hat. Ein Veranstalter mit dem Herz am rechten Fleck, eine wirklich unglaublich liebevoll gestaltete Location, eine grandiose und extrem dankbare feiernde Meute und viele viele glückliche Gesichter. Solche unbezahlbaren und leider rar gewordenen Momente sind der Grund für alle Bemühungen und zeigen einem, warum man das, was man macht doch so sehr liebt.

Ich wünsche maximalste Unterhaltung mit dem Mitschnitt von jener Silvesternacht.

3 QUESTIONS to MADMOTORMIQUEL:

Q: Your mix shows influences from Beats and Hip-Hop. When did you come to electronic music and why?

A: I have  been collecting records from an early age on listening to so many styles of music that I realized pretty early that there is good music in every genre, you just need to find it. So it’s really hard for me to tell when I first got in touch with electronic music. I came from Punkrock, Hardcore, Ska, but I listened to hip hop really early too, and I grew up with friends in Berlin that started some of the first techno clubs and some of my friends became quite famous musicians. So I guess I have been in touch with electronic music all my life, but my passion for raves was definitely highly influenced by my first Fusion Festival and all those illegal raves a long time ago.

Q: From Berlin to the world. Where´s your favorite place to DJ?

A: There are soooo many amazing places around the world where I had the chance to play, thats always hard to tell. To name 3 places that really really mean a lot to me: Garbicz Festival, Afrika Burn, Egypt Sandbox Festival.

Q: Which releases can we expect this year? And is there maybe another tour coming up?

A: I was touring so much in the last 2 years that I didn’t have that much time for studio, hopefully this year I will spend some more time producing again. There is a track coming up in March/April on the Bar 25 compilation I did together with my Melbourne friend moodmachine, and I made a remix for my friend Sam Farsio from Dubai which will be out in the next months as well. And I am working on some new tracks, so let’s see what happens.

I’m playing 2 shows in New Caledonia end of February which I am really excited about! A US tour in summer including Oregon Eclipse Festival and Burning Man, again Egypt in May and quite a lot other stuff.

Lee Burton (Elephant Moon, Bodyparts - GR)

Lee is a born musician who started learning his craft very early, mastering guitar and bass in school, then later performing in progressive rock and jazz-rock bands and also writing music and lyrics. It was around this time when Lee expanded into music production and quickly headed towards the electronic scene, making his debut with Klik Records at the age of 19. In the years that followed, Lee was very productive and he established his unique analogue sound, which was quickly discovered by BodyParts Records, Elephant Moon Records, Taverna Tracks and recently at the legendary raum... musik.

Unglaublich wie die Zeit vergeht. Heute genau vor 3 Jahren hab ich den ersten sound(ge)cloud Podcast im kleinen Kulturverein „Weinerei“ in Nürnberg eingespielt. Dafür hatte ich mir damals Janoma aus Berlin eingeladen. Janoma meinte damals ob er nicht noch einen Bekannten mitbringen kann … mit Ihm wollte er schon lange mal was zusammen machen. So kam es das an diesem Abend nicht nur mein erster sound(ge)cloud Podcast eingespielt wurde, sondern auch das gradiose DJ-Duo doob & janoma das Licht der Welt erblickte. Somit feiern wir heute doppelt und dreifach Geburtstag … 3 Jahre doob & janoma und 3 Jahre sound(ge)cloud. Von dem her war ganz klar wer die Ehre hat den 3 Jahres-Podcast einzuspielen und Andi und Janosch mussten auch nicht lange überredet werden.

Als ich den Mix von den Beiden bekommen habe, meinten Sie „hm es ist ihnen diesmal sehr schwer gefallen den roten Faden zu finden und ich soll nicht zu viel erwarten“. Aber was soll ich sagen die Erwartungen wurden auch diesmal wieder bei weit übertroffen. Der Mix trifft exakt meinen momentanen Musikgeschmack, reduziert, deep, an manchen Stellen etwas düster und vor allem berührte er sofort meine Seele. Genau auf den Punkt … das zeichnet Freundschaft aus --- sich ohne Worte zu verstehen. DANKE

sound(ge)cloud ist voll und ganze eine Herzensangelegenheit für mich und ich bin immer wieder über Glücklich mit diesem Projekt meinen persönlichen Geschmack der elektronischen Musik mit meinen Hörern zu teilen. Ohne die fantastischen Künstler die sich immer wieder die Zeit und die Mühe nehmen so tolle Momentaufnahmen zu kreieren wäre es aber nicht möglich --- DANKE ihr MUSIKFREAKS <3
