With a little help from Blu (singer/ writer of Bassment Jaxx "Red Alert") Mr Drastic and Rasiya of 2000 Black,  we've managed to capture & highlight some of his teachings..... you make up your mind...?

After the great success of Jerk House Connection's "Velvet Touch" release, STALWART is quite proud to present you its 21st release from one influential member of the infamous broken beat UK combo BUGZINTHEATTIC: Orin Walters aka AFRONAUT. Orin heard the slam poetry of Suheir Hammad, a speech about the will power not to give into extreme ideological, political and/or religious undemocratic systems. He craftly joined his minimalist deep groove to emphasize it, giving birth to EYE WILL NOT, a track that is sure to be noticed in any sets. On the remix treatment, BUGZINTHEATTIC have been working on their classy broken beat treatment, whereas DJ RORK has been giving it an infectious hypnotic house touch with an heavy bass, while deep house man of the moment DJEFF AFROZILA relift it for the more South African House Music dance floors, and MISSOLESS did an amazing breakbeat rework.

Another quality and classy release from STALWART !!

A few summers ago LYMA moved to 428...
LYMA’s new home was an old school that was transitioning to an office space. He could live there until the project started. There were many rooms and lengthy corridors to navigate from “Side to Side” and there was a big schoolyard surrounding the building. 

He invited Lucas Mens and Steve Biko.K to his housewarming. When they came over, they expected to see only LYMA. At first sight it seemed so, but after several other visits they realized that they were not alone… Every time they made or played music in that place, there were energies flowing with them. Combined with these three high energy personalities, it felt like there was a tornado of energy flowing through the building. 
There was a big purple tree in the front yard and they discovered that the tree was an avatar to these energies. From one of the branches a “Root Bird” kept singing the roots to their songs. The brotherhood managed to capture these intense sessions and crafted them into 428. Afterwards they made a “Fountain of Promises”,  | because ultimately these sessions remind them that they are one at all levels. In mind, body and music. An exchange of high energy. Get into the flow and share the love.

Today's premiere comes from a Munich based band called Karaba. "Der Kaelte" is a beautiful example of the band's brilliant musicianship and creativity, weaving together influences from jazz, Krautrock or kosmische musik, and psychedelic rock. It certainly earns the title of cosmic banded about so much these days.

Karaba is the latest band to be released on Kryptox.  Founded by the by the team behind dancefloor label Toy Tonics Records, Karaba is a fairly new Berlin-based label dedicated to the rising German jazz scene, particularly the young musicians mixing it jazz with kosmische and electronic vibes. Last year saw them release an acclaimed album from  JJ Whitefeld (founder of Karl Hector & The Malcouns).

Karaba have already been featured on the Kryptox Kraut Jazz Futurism Compilation in 2019. Now the young quintet is are set to deliver their first EP for Kryptox. Five young guys, they began to jam together when starting to study music in 2012. Being from Munich, a town where legendary Kraut Rock bands like Amon Düül, Guru Guru and Embryo came from, the Karaba guys are obviously influenced by these same German kraut and psychedelic sounds. You can hear that in many shades of this album: the complexity of the unusual rhythmical fundaments and percussive patterns, and the prog rock parts, with these partly abstract unison lines and strange melodic figures or unexpected chord changes.

Whilst the band's sound is obviously influenced by a lot of seventies music, it isn't a purely retro affair, with their music having a strong modern psych meets contemporary jazz feel that's very much of it's own time too.

For the past 15 years, Misha van de Winkel has released a great deal of music, mostly under the name PCM / Pitch Controller Mitch and as a member of the Birdhouse collective. He has written and produced music for many artists including Pete Philly, Eva Lazarus & Rilan & The Bombardiers.

In 2020 Misha embarks on a new adventure; sharing his stories, melodies, and energy under a new moniker, Shamis, meaning bright/sunlit. The first single of this endeavour is titled, “Believe.”

“Believe" portraits the bigger picture in life, to overcome the dualistic mind state, to understand that we create with our thoughts and minds and that our belief system shapes our perception.

IG Culture, one of the most notable producers of West London’s broken beat scene, played a large role in shaping Misha’s sound. For this release, IG Culture delivers a remix as Likwid Continual Space Motion, his latest Afro-futuristic, and forward-thinking jazz venture.
