About the CD:
In homage to Shindig's epic booking of Danny Tenaglia I felt it was fitting to share what is one of the most powerful and dominating mixes of all time. Nothing say's 'I'm untouchable' like no other gone before and probably still holds strong as a contender for that crown today. As a UK clubber mostly my only memory of seeing DT was his flashlight antics at Homelands, Winchester around 1999. Unfortunately that was a little too hazy than I would I liked. So it's with great sadness I'll be missing his upcoming gig at Warehouse 34 in Newcastle. But wish everyone else going a fucking brilliant night.

For the 20th episode of the Classic Mix CD Series we asked friend of the show and fellow north east lad Mr Ian Blevins to recommend his favourite all time classic disc. Being one of the most talented selectors and dj's you will likely ever hear... Ian came back to us with what is a truly exceptional 'Choice' and it stands out to him simply by being the most outrageously good CD he always remembered. We've played this 4 times already and see where he's coming from. It features tracks such as Mission Control's 'Outer Limits', the dark lyrics of Tony Cook's 'On The Floor', the outrageously fun Hugh Masekela's 'Don't Go Lose It Baby' and the famous 'The Whistle Song' by Frankie Knuckles.

You can catch Blev closing the summer season at his We Love, Space residency in Ibiza where he spins on the Premier Etage every weekend. As well as a selection of other gigs around the island. Sunday Morning is a mix series dedicated to pushing artists and labels who intend on pursuing the beauty in downtempo/chill-wave music. The focus is centered on experimental yet eloquent productions. This mix series is made in order to wind down and relax after a long night out, or simply listen to something other than dance music. I grew up with record labels like M3rck and Schematic based out of Miami, and have always searched for mixes which included these sort of sounds after a long weekend of traveling. Having not found many, I decided to make this a bi-weekly ongoing series including guest mixes.

About the CD:
005 of the 'Classic Mix CD' collection brings a much slower affair. From the superb 'Back To Mine' CD series. The first I purchased was actually Danny Tenaglia's disc, which I bought out of curiosity being a fan of his house DJ sets. That disc almost made it here, but it was the Groove Armada release which really got hammered on my old Sony stereo. No other disc reminds me of lazy summer sundays more than this. And it was really the first musical selection that steered me towards collecting and playing a mix of music all together. Going from A Tribe Called Quest, into Barry White's incredible "Playing Your Game Baby" then house and other genre's coming in.... really resonated with me and elevated the way I put music together. Both listening to and playing out. A truly seminal release.
