Hi guys!

After 3 years of no gigs it was time to pack up my stuff and travel the long road to Buenos Aires. I was nervous, I was scared, I was panicking. What was I going to play? You see after 30 years of playing music for various crowds and in various rooms and fields I felt I had traveled enough, I felt I had played enough and with my frequent gig at House Of Yes in New York i also felt i went full circle. What was left for me to do? What was left for me to explore? Covid and the year after was a big moment to reflect on that, to take time to figure that out. When Argentina called for a re-visit to the club that held the dearest memories to me in the early years of this century I knew it was time to test drive the ideas and directions I felt most comfortable with. A club with so much history for DJ culture was the perfect spot for a reset. And boy It did not disappoint, as a matter of fact it was incredible. A crowd and a vibe I had been chasing for so long was right back where I first found it. I took the club for a trip down memory lane and back to the here and now in the space of 3 hours, and that is what I think I do best, gluing the years and the various styles together. This mix takes inspiration from that night and maybe the start of something new. Enjoy!!

In Hindu Philosophy and some Indian religions, samskaras or sanskaras (Sanskrit: संस्कार) are mental impressions, recollections, or psychological imprints that colour one's thoughts and actions, and form the basis for the development of karma theory.
In Buddhism, the Sanskrit term samskara is used to describe "mental formations," "will," and many other concepts; in Pāli it is referred to as saṅkhāra.

According to various schools of Indian philosophy, every action, intent or preparation by an individual leaves a samskara (impression, impact, imprint) in the deeper structure of the person's mind. These impressions then await volitional fruition in that individual's future, in the form of hidden expectations, circumstances or a subconscious sense of self-worth. These Samskaras manifest as tendencies, karmic impulses, subliminal impressions, habitual potencies or innate dispositions.

Whether it’s producing, remixing or dj’ing, Sander Kleinenberg has been building credibility on all fronts for over twenty-five years. He has established himself as an advocate of progress and most of all, a pivotal player on the frontier of electronic music. Starting out dj-ing at merely fifteen years old, a young Sander Kleinenberg was inspired by club music and hip-hop culture in the late eighties. This cultural shift inspired his own musical path, which in turn led to him traveling the world and spreading his sound along the way. Many awards, accolades and having performed all corners of the world later you could say it was destiny. 

Often mentioned when talking about the first wave of superstar dj’s from the progressive house wave around the turn of the century, Sander brought a mixture genres and styles to the table like never heard before. Quirky disco, psychedelia, Detroit techno, straight up soul and industrialism contributed greatly to the ever-evolving musical landscape in the ‘90s and 00’s. Sander’s eclectic persona and capability to always be two steps ahead of the rest have resulted in him being an award-winning dj and producer. As time passes by and his career unfolds, the pattern within it becomes more and more visible, Sander is a man on the move, always searching for the “perfect mix” in his own words. Sander’s relentless passion for perfection has kept him away from classification, putting hours upon hours into the enrichment of dj- and producer identity. Constantly twisting and shaping sounds. It’s this search for relevance in electronic musics development that keeps him re-inventing himself in every decade that has gone by since those early days. 

Today Sander looks back at his journey and thought it was time to make up the balance of all the corners of progress his career has taken him. You could call it a full circle type moment settling for nothing else but quality.
