This is my personal, deeply emotional version — dedicated to all those who struggle with loneliness and depression.

Genre-defining, Yoshitoshi Recordings, is gearing up to release its most exciting compilation to date from label boss, Sharam. Recorded live at Warung Beach Club, Brazil’s most remarkable superclub, this three-hour mix stands as testament to Sharam’s genre bending sets and record breaking appearance with a unique ability to rock the dancefloor…

Nicknamed as the electronic ‘music temple’ on the south coast of Brazil, the Warung Beach Club is a tropical paradise, set amidst a vast beachfront nature preserve where it showcases the greatest names in modern electronic music. When Warung booked Grammy award-winning producer and DJ, Sharam, for a 10hr house music marathon set in April this year, he smashed all attendance records since the club opened with 4,500 clubbers turning up to hear his set!

Three of the most perfect hours of this night have been selected and lovingly presented in this must-have compilation: Sharam explains:

“Warung is the number one club in my book so it's a dream come true that I get to showcase to the world what went on musically last time I played there. Three hours of that magical 10 hour set is now engraved in eternity via this album. I could retire today and be a happy man, but nights like this make me want to go on forever doing what I love to do.”

Not only was this floor filling set a hit at Warung, it also impressed Radio 1 and in May 2011, they aired two hours as a prestigious Essential Mix, where Pete Tong described Sharam as: “On devastating form”. For Radio 1 to air a mix recorded elsewhere is practically unheard of, however rules were side-stepped to air Sharam’s blinding Warung set, which is no surprise when you consider Sharam (also part of the legendary Deep Dish) won Essential Mix of the Year for his debut mix in 2009.

With popularity sky high, and with such a good reaction to the Essential Mix, Sharam decided to turn his set into a proper mix compilation. The album is packed with an array of white labels, unreleased tunes, dance floor head turners and a selection of hot Yoshitoshi releases. 

It journeys from the hypnotic sounds of Paul Ritch, Slam and Pirupa, into Joe T Vanelli’s explosive ‘It’s Gotta Be Big’. The mix features tracks and remixes from Adam Beyer and Nic Fanciulli, plus Sharam’s anthemic track ‘Fun’, alongside Pig &amp; Dan’s WMC Stormer ‘Detonate’. A further smattering of releases follow from Yoshitoshi including Tom Middleton and El Mundo &amp; Satori, and Sharam’s own unreleased track ‘Que Cubana’, and so many more.

Warung state simply: “Sharam playing in Warung is legendary. He is part of our family”. They loved him so much that on 29th October Sharam will return to do it all over again. If you can’t make the journey to Brazil, then just close your eyes, put on this compilation and press play...

Sandra Collins exploded out of the California rave scene in the 90’s.  Born in Arizona but with roots in  Las Vegas, her appetite for dance music & it’s culture, drew her to the heartbeat of Los Angeles. She started DJ’ing in the early 90’s, which led to an A&R job at the LA office of EyeQ/Harthouse, the German record company co-founded by the dance music pioneer, Sven Vath.  Her production career began in 1998 with releases on LA’s Fragrant Music and the UK’s Hook Recordings. The early 2000’s saw several releases via compilations, singles , EP’s and remixes on labels such as Kinetic, Perfecto and Interscope for artists including Nine Inch Nails and Fleet Foxes.  Between her releases and relentless touring schedule, Sandra received numerous awards, including URB Magazine Best female Artist in 1999 and UK’s Dancestar Best DJ in 2003.
 
Sandra held residencies at the legendary Twilo in NYC and also at Chicago’s Crobar.  She had the honor of being one of Coachella’s inaugural DJs, playing the influential festival three times, and performed at Woodstock ‘99,  Ultra Music Festival, Global Gathering, Electric Daisy Carnival (now known as EDC), Creamfields and Burning Man, to name a few.
 
Over the years, her musical style has expanded. Her sets now include deep, progressive, melodic and tech house, following along the lines of her current productions.  Sandra pushes herself out of her comfort zone and enters a more confident and creative stage in her career, including performing vocals on her recent releases. She has been a guest DJ on several radio shows and has been feverishly working in the studio, creating an arsenal of productions with DC based production partner Micke. Sandra has a radio show of her own in the works and is inspired to score for the silver screen, while still making dance music and bringing it personally to her fans on the dancefloor on her upcoming Back2Black tour starting in December 2018. This will coincide with her next release “Four” on Perfecto Black, due out end of November.
