'Wait by the Water' was recorded a few months ago at the theatre de l'Athénée in Paris with the gifted violinist Jasser Haj Youssef.
I wrote it after having finished Between Dogs and Wolves album with the live show in mind. I wanted to sing something that would work as a way of tuning ourselves into the right frequency in order to listen to quiet and intimate music.

So far is a song by the band Habanot Nechama and the lyrics are partly in Hebrew partly in English. We both speak English but none of us Hebrew. Laura learned the lyrics from an English transcription. While singing the song, Meryem transcribed the sounds she heared in Arabic letters in order to remember the lyrics. She mentioned the similarity between the sound of Hebrew and Arabic.

Following the events that occurred in several countries and closer to us in Paris and in response to the media and community’s reactions, we have decided to gather around between friends and record a version of Los Hermanos, written by Atahualpa Yupanqui, to advocate the importance of being united.
