I wanted to cover this song because it is special to me, but man, it was a labor of love.  I’ve been working on this track for weeks, trying to get it right so I can make Yoongi  and BTS proud.  I know it’s not perfect, but I really wanted to share it and to thank Yoongi for writing such a comforting song.  Happy birthday, Min Yoongi!  You are a warm, kind soul and I love hearing your perspective on things.  I hope you have a wonderful, healing reunion with K-ARMY this week and that you are happy and healthy this year and for many years to come.

I relate to this song on many levels:  falling and getting up again, wishing things were easier sometimes, longing for a reset button, feeling the familiar pains of failure,  but carrying on, despite it feeling deep and devastating, like your first big mistake.  The ending of the song is a resolute statement: I won’t give up.  That’s my declaration too.  I've given up on myself in the past, but I'm determined not to do that again.

Jamais Vu - BTS cover

I watched the Nothing But Thieves: Road to the O2 documentary on YouTube on Sunday night and was mesmerized by their live performance of “Your Blood.”  I can’t explain it, but I NEEDED to sing this song and needed to it ASAP!  I can only hope to hear them perform this song sometime in 2023 (please please please). I haven’t done something this “rock” before, but putting this together was cathartic.

In honor of Jimin’s birthday, I covered “With You” from the Our Blues OST.  It’s a gentle and tender song, much like Jimin, who has one of the biggest hearts.  This man is comfort personified and has so much empathy, as well as being one of the world’s best performers.  I’m looking forward to his upcoming album and hope that this year will shine even brighter than before.  Happy birthday, Jimin!

Happy birthday, Hobi! I wish you all the happiness in the world! I hope you have a wonderful day, spending time with people you love, eating delicious food, and getting some quality rest.  You've been working so hard and I'm so proud of you.  It's amazing how you take challenges head on and don't let discomfort or criticism stop you from moving forward.  This makes you one of the bravest people.  Even with all your tremendous success, you continue to remain kind, humble, supporting other people.  You inspire me to do better, work harder, and dare to dream bigger for myself, even if it seems a little impossible.  

I recorded a cover of "Future" because these are the lyrics I wanted to sing back to you for your birthday.  The future is unknown and that can be really scary, but we need to stay true to who we are, go with the flow, and carry on with courage, faith, hope, and gratitude.

I've wanted to cover this song for a while, but add lullaby vibes while strongly featuring harmonies.  This is quintessential Coldplay with some of the sweetest lyrics ever sung.  I wasn't going to release cover quite yet, but it was the only thing I could think of to express all my feelings after the final D-Day concert today.  So here it is, my humble gift. Did I cover this song already?  I sure did.  My affection for this song goes deep.  It's been a really long time since I've uploaded a live performance and this is the one I needed to do for a variety of reasons.  This is my song for 2024 - to keep pressing onward, in the good and the bad, because life inevitably goes on.  I'm also thankful for the people in my life who anchor me, that even when the world is constantly changing, things are still the same between them and me.
