Sorrow (On Black Metal Wings)

This is the first track finished in my project called "Storm in a Blue Sky". The project itself is about a person whose life seemed to go from ideal (blue sky) to completely chaotic (storm). In fact, I have seen this in many people, especially when they divorce or remarry. This song is about understanding that, even though we might feel like we are alone, we are actually not. It has aspects of native sounds in it to help the listener understand the concept of "sky" from a purely natural and Canadian direction.

Making music that has meat to it: that is the tagline for this independent singer-songwriter from the Interior of BC, Canada. Sandro felt the pull of music at a very young age, banging on pots and pans in the kitchen as a toddler, singing Elvis tunes around the house, bopping to ABBA, and then learning to play the first few chords on the guitar to various Beatles tunes. 

His influences changed, however, as he began to listen to the sounds of the late 70's and early 80's, influenced by bands such as  Aerosmith, Trooper, Streetheart, and then the progressive sounds of Rush, YES, and Triumph. However, music had many faces, and Sandro's playlist would also include streams of Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and Scorpions, and also The Manhattan Transfer and David Weckl. Somehow, all of those influences came together, stirred by a passion to create music that had a purpose and a place, to what you hear now. No wonder one of the latest reviews of Sandro's music calls it "INIMITABLY ECCENTRIC PROGRESSIVE PSYCH-ROCK". What exactly is that?!? It's what you hear. 

Sandro is also the drummer in numerous local (Kamloops, BC) bands, including Paisley Groove, The Jeremy Kneeshaw Band, and Shelter.
