After 5 years of dealing with an average of 95 to 97% male participants to our production contests, we decided to open an extra edition dedicated to womxn only. With no musical genres restrictions and a jury made out of four of the most influential ladies in the european game, we've managed to gather 50 demos, when it's usually half a dozen.
Needless to say that we found the creativity and sensitivity that is usually lacking when the contest is open to everybody, that is why instead of 15 tracks, we chose to open the compilation to the 20 best tracks selected by our jury.
A huge thanks to Anetha, Cinthie, Flore & NVST who took on their personal time to listen to each tracks and massive congratulations to Dylan Dylan, LISA & Azo who respectively won the jury award, the audience award and the admin award.

To the delight of many, longstanding Panorama Bar resident Virginia is prepping her first feature length release on Berghain's own Ostgut Ton. With co-production from an arsenal of renowned artists such as Steffi, Martyn and Dexter, Fierce for the Night is said to address the "classic house music narrative" of "love, longing and lightness." The new project sees Virginia sing over all eleven tracks that incorporate a broad range of melodies, rhythms and sounds. From energetic house to slow paced balled-esque numbers, to more break heavy cuts; all gel as one under the rubric of the love and enjoyment in club culture. by smooth vocals that flow excellently alongside each track.

"Follow Me" captures the smooth vocally aided flow that ties Fierce for the Night together. A jungle-inspired break is paired with crisp kick drums, playful chords and a hefty bassline, while Virginia's soft vocals ride beautifully over the top. A picture is painted of a dancefloor in close conjunction with the DJ, where they dance away until the "break of dawn."

Across three reflective and cosmic originals, producer Parks Perdue unleashes an array of extra-lush pads, and deeply melancholic acid bass. Sci-fi atmospheres and nods to classic rave and electro squeeze their way into bricked waveforms… rough but not too rough distortion… and a hard hitting but bubbly remix by Belgian producer Innershades (@innershades) rounds out the 12”, solidifying it’s direct and inspirational intent. Lobster Theremin and Workshop alumni Ozel AB reimagines the track as an ethereal rave landscape, while FC Kahuna return to deliver a playful, digital-only take that recently featured as Lauren Laverne’s ‘Headphone Highlight’ on BBC 6Music.
