If Crew Love is True Love, then the short film for Sandrow M's new track "Die Stimmung" provides the appropriate imagery. The result is a Dresden ode to friendship that knows no hurdles and comes at just the right time. What more beautiful metaphor for an exuberant moment of joy can there be than an extended cake fight? But it's not just the countless conversations and dance interludes in the context of flamboyant club nights that are echoed in the video by Dresden director György De Val. Also, regular, no longer sober walks through the allotment landscape around the corner are referenced. Sandrow M-Die Hard fans will also enjoy the little allusions to his mini-world hit "Prayervan" video. Conférencier Max Rademann is back, and some of the protagonists of that time and the Dresden pub choir, which once again quietly belts out the earworm lines of "Prayervan".
The artist himself leads the way through the explosive and colourful plot points. Acting almost like a kind of silent observer who looks to see what effect "Die Stimmung" has on the people involved. The song was written spontaneously and within one night in 2020. Sandrow M's lines, this time in German, perfectly reflect his personality. He is the type who can be extroverted at the drop of a hat. Someone you need in your friend's circle.

Wenn Crew Love tatsächlich True Love ist, dann bietet der Kurzfilm für Sandrow Ms neuen Track „Die Stimmung“ die passende Bebilderung. Entstanden ist eine Dresdner Ode an die Freundschaft, die keine Hürden kennt und die genau jetzt zum richtigen Zeitpunkt kommt. Welch schönere Metapher für einen ausgelassenen Moment der Freude kann es denn geben als eine ausgedehnte Tortenschlacht? Doch nicht nur die unzähligen Gespräche und Tanzeinlagen im Rahmen flamboyanter Clubnächte finden ihren Widerhall im Video des Dresdner Regisseurs György De Val. Auch gemeinsame, nicht mehr ganz nüchterne Spaziergänge durch die Kleingartenlandschaft um die Ecke werden referenziert. Sandrow M-Die Hard-Fans werden sich zudem über die kleinen Anspielungen an das Video seines Mini-Welthits „Prayervan“ freuen. Conférencier Max Rademann ist genauso wieder dabei wie einige der damaligen Protagonisten und auch der Dresdner Kneipenchor, der die Ohrwurmzeilen von „Prayervan“ noch einmal still vor sich hinschmettert.
Durch die explosiven und farbenprächtigen Plot Points führt der Künstler selbst und wirkt dabei fast wie eine Art stiller Beobachter, der mal eben nachsieht, welche Wirkung „Die Stimmung“ auf die handelnden Personen hat. Der Song entstand Ende 2020 spontan und innerhalb einer Nacht. Sandrow Ms diesmal auf Deutsch intonierten Zeilen spiegeln dabei perfekt seine Persönlichkeit. Er ist der Typ, der auf Knopfdruck extrovertiert sein kann. Einer, den du brauchst im Freundeskreis.

This little emo piece just slipped out of my hands (as many others)...didn´t knew why and what it was. 

Probably it represents the idea of melancholy as something powerful, beautiful and important. Happiness requires sadness before and after.

Sandrow M is no stranger to the adventure playground of Dresden's subculture. Having been born with a knack for melody and rhythm at an early age, he swapped Bach and Mozart scores for his first machines and computers at the end of his childhood. 

He actually likes to go into the studio alone to make music, even if this preference doesn't exactly make sense at first. After all, in addition to his solo releases and mini-world hits like "Prayervan" or "Space Dancer", he has repeatedly collaborated with interesting artists of various genres throughout his career. He produced and released music with ETUI label maker Insect O. He also launched the C-Beams project with Tina Slotta and Break SL. Both collaborations that he also brought to the club in various live constellations. The track "Disco Schlamboni" most recently appeared on his home base Uncanny Valley label, created with Will Dubner during an intense studio session. 

But club music, vinyl and synths represent only one facet of his creative musical world. In 2014, the radio play "Die Dörte und der Unkönig Willy" (The Dörte and the Unkönig Willy) was created in collaboration with Dresden author Max Rademann and artists from Uncanny Valley. It included with it a children's book of the same name. Max and Sandrow still present the story live with archaic overhead projectors and child-friendly soundscapes from time to time. 

Composition work for dance and theatre productions also occupies an integral part of his creative energy, among others for the Berlin choreographer Yaron Shamir. This can result in piano ballads, melancholic cello pieces, symphonic orchestral music, surreal soundscapes and action movie soundtracks. It can also be a very profane imitation of a village band if necessary. It's challenges like these that Sandrow loves and which he also likes to master alone in his not absolutely quiet studio chamber.


Sandrow M ist wahrlich kein Unbekannter auf dem Abenteuerspielplatz der Dresdner Subkultur. 

Nachdem ihm ein Händchen für Melodie und Rhythmus schon früh in die Wiege gelegt wurde, tauschte er zum Ende der Kindheit Bach- und Mozartnoten gegen erste Maschinchen und Computer ein. Zum Musikmachen geht er eigentlich gern allein ins Studio, auch wenn diese Vorliebe zunächst nicht gerade einleuchtet. Immerhin hat er neben seinen Solo-Releases und Mini-Welthits wie „Prayervan“ oder „Space Dancer“ im Laufe seiner Karriere immer wieder auch mit interessanten Künstler*innen verschiedenen Genres zusammengearbeitet. So produzierte und veröffentlichte er Musik mit ETUI-Labelmacher Insect O. Zudem brachte er das Projekt C-Beams mit Tina Slotta und Break SL auf den Weg. Beides Kooperationen, die er in verschiedenen Live-Konstellationen auch in den Club brachte. Zuletzt erschien der Track „Disco Schlamboni“ auf seiner Homebase Uncanny Valley. Ein Track, der mit Will Dubner während einer intensiven Studiosession entstand.

Doch Clubmusik, Vinyl und Synths bilden nur eine Facette seiner musikalischen Schaffenswelt ab. 2014 ist in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Dresdner Autor Max Rademann und Künstlern von Uncanny Valley das Hörspiel „Die Dörte und der Unkönig Willy“ entstanden, das dem gleichnamigen Kinderbuch beigelegt war. Max und Sandrow präsentieren die Geschichte hin und wieder live mit archaischen Overhead-Projektoren und kindgerechter Klangkulisse. Einen wichtigen Teil seiner Schaffenskraft nimmt zudem die Kompositionsarbeit für Tanz- und Theaterproduktionen ein, unter anderem für den Berliner Choreografen Yaron Shamir. Dabei können Pianoballaden, melancholische Cellostücke, symphonische Orchestermusik aber auch surreale Klangwelten und Actionfilm-Soundtracks entstehen. Bei Bedarf kann es sich aber auch ganz profan um die Imitation einer Dorfkapelle handeln. Es sind Herausforderungen wie diese, die Sandrow liebt und die er gerne auch mal alleine im nicht gerade stillen Studiokämmerlein meistert.
